Since 2003,the music course of high school in our country has implemented the modular elective system.Music appreciation is one of the compulsory courses.As a compulsory course stipulated by the state,its importance is self-evident.In the "Standard(experiment)of Music Curriculum in General Senior Middle School" formulated by the Ministry of Education of China,the course design idea of "Music appreciation" is clearly stipulated,which points out that the course "Music appreciation" "trains students' musical aesthetic ability and evaluation." Judgement ability is the main channel that enhances student's music culture accomplishment "This paragraph clearly stipulates the teaching tasks carried by "Music appreciation",and also reflects the important position of "Music appreciation" in high school music teaching.The teaching of "Music appreciation" has many contents,wide scope and rich knowledge.High school music teachers have always attached great importance to the teaching content.The western music appreciation part is an important part of it.There are related contents in many modules of the textbook.High school music curriculum standards put forward higher requirements for teaching materials and many aspects of teaching.However,in the process of implementing teaching,we feel that part of the teaching material is not suitable to the teaching reality,and we encounter some difficult problems and puzzles.In terms of teaching materials,some of the selection arrangements for the content of this part of the textbook do not keep pace with the times,can not arouse the interest of students and adapt to the needs of learning.In addition,the teaching scope is too wide and the content is too much under the limited class hours.It is difficult to finish teaching with high quality.There are also great differences in teachers' professional quality,educational concept,teaching attitude,level and so on.In order to meet the requirements of the Standard better and make the music appreciation of the West more suitable for the study of students and the teaching of teachers,it is necessary to carry out the school-based implementation of the contents of this part of the textbook to a certain extent.The author takes the western music appreciation teaching in Hunan edition as an example to carry out the school-based implementation of teaching in combination with teaching practice,and thinks about how to further improve the teaching efficiency.It is also hoped that this paper can provide some theoretical references for the theoretical research of music theorists and the relevant teaching of music teachers.This paper includes the introduction and three chapters:the introduction mainly expounds the significance of the school-based research on the western music appreciation teaching in Hunan edition,the research status quo and the research methods;the first chapter is the changes of the music teaching materials in senior high schools in China.The whole structure of textbook arrangement,the content structure analysis of western music appreciation part;the second chapter is the problems,thinking and suggestions in the course of the implementation of school-based teaching material of western music part;the third chapter is to explore the school-based practice of western music appreciation teaching.
