The improvement of our country's future international competitiveness lies in the improvement of citizen science literacy.As one of the most important aspects,biological science literacy plays an important role in improving citizen's scientific literacy.For junior high school students,the quality of the second class in biology class greatly influences the improvement of students' biological science literacy.Therefore,the second class in biology class plays an irreplaceable role in improving students' biological science literacy.This paper used questionnaire investigation,case analysis method,experimental method,scientific literacy survey on students in Grade Seven in Sonied Right Banner No.1 Middle School,and also did some research on biology case design and implementation of the second classroom teaching.The results showed that:(1)Before having the second class on biology,biological science literacy of students was low.They were lack of biological knowledge and skills.They didn't understand biology very well.(2)The study of the second classroom teaching cases in the biology class shows that:a.The design and implementation of the second classroom with inquiry-experiment are mainly in the way of teachers' guidance and the students' “independent study”,allowing students to try to design their own experiments.Based on the understanding of experimental principles,corresponding conclusions are obtained according to experimental phenomena.Through the implementation of steps,such as scientific inquiring questions,making hypotheses,formulating and implementing plans,drawing conclusions,expressing and exchanging and so on,students are trained to the abilities of raising questions,solving problems and group cooperation,etc.At the same time,which also can help students to master the methods of raising questions and the general process of inquiry-experiment,deepening the understanding of the corresponding knowledge;b.The design and implementation of the second classroom with hands-on experiment mainly analyze the student's experimental practice ability,aiming at weak links and according to the laboratory conditions,to design the practical experiment.In the experiment process,the team divided the labor to complete the experimental steps in the form of group cooperation,requiring students to faithfully record the observed phenomena,as well as analyze and discuss them.Focus on cultivating students' abilities of regulating operations and experimental practice,and train students' ability of observation,innovation and realistic scientific attitude of seeking truth from facts;c.The design and implementation of the second classroom with design experiments.Select topics according to the content of teaching materials,and design experimental directions and contents,making students to review and collect information,as well as design technical routes and demonstrate experimental programs.In the experiment process,it should pay attention to combine theory and practice,and improve and correct the experimental program in real time,so as to develop the methods and capabilities of students for conducting scientific experiments and scientific research.(3)After the completion of the second classroom,the students' biological science literacy has been improved mainly in two aspects: One is to improve the students' scientific methods and abilities,such as the beginning ability,innovation ability,information gathering,sorting,etc,there was a big increase;On the other hand,students' scientific literacy in emotional attitudes and values was constantly improved The disadvantage was that students think it was not obvious to improve cognition.This study believes that the development of the second classroom should be combined with the first classroom,enrich the content of the second classroom activities,and focus on cultivating the scientific methods and scientific research abilities of students.We should increase capital investment as much as possible to make the second classroom activities more abundant and management more effective,so as to promote the cultivation ofstudents' scientific literacy and the improvement of scientific researccapabilities.
