Children are the future of the country and the hope of the nation.Tibetan children are the backbone of the economic development of the Tibet Autonomous region. The degree of satisfaction of their psychological needs is related to their growth and future,to the harmony and happiness of their families, and also to social stability and harmony. In China, scholars have made a great deal of research on children from both physical and psychological aspects, which has made great contributions to the healthy development of children in our country. However, geographically, scholars`study pay more attention to children in the interior, but less to children in remote areas, especially in some special areas, such as Tibet. While consulting the literature,it is found that in the limited research on Tibetan children, the study on the material life status of Tibetan children is the majority, but the research on their psychological needs is less.In view of this, the author, relying on the Himalayan Rescue Center,an internship institution, went deep into northern Tibet, and took the Tibetan children in the primary schools in Shenya Township,a large proportion of whom are orphans or living with single parents,as the objects of investigation,to investigate and analyze their psychological needs, through questionnaires,in-depth interviews and other ways. The results show that their psychological needs mainly focus on the needs of their relatives' company, peer acceptance, recognition and praise, and respect.Based on this, the author summarizes the reasons why the psychological needs of the Tibetan children have not been met,and attempts to help the Tibetan children in this school to meet their basic psychological needs through designing and developing some specific group activities from the perspective of the intervention of the group work. Then, through reflection on the process of using group work methods to intervene in the psychological needs of Tibetan children, the author draws two conclusions that the intervention of social work helps to solve the psychological needs of Tibetan children in the primary school of Shenya Township and that the group work is an effective way to meet the psychological needs of the Tibetan children in the primary school of Shenya Township. Finally, the author puts forward some suggestions to meet the psychological needs of Tibetanchildren from three aspects: family, school and society. This article is only based on a survey of primary schools in Shenya Township, and there are tens of thousands of "Shenya-Township primary schools" in Tibet, which is sparsely populated. Therefore, how to better meet the psychological needs of these Tibetan children should be paid close attention to by the whole society. The author hopes that the government can play an active role in the integration of resources, attracting more social forces to help Tibetan children throngh various channels and providing them with more comprehensive services. At the same time, with the increasing enrichment and perfection of social work professional theories and techniques in recent years, social work has achieved vigorous development in many parts of the mainland of China, and has made important contributions to the local economic and social development. On this basis, the Tibet Party Committee and the government may,in light of the actual local conditions, draw lessons from the advanced experience of the mainland, formulate corresponding policies, vigorously introduce social work professionals, and give play to the advantages of social work in promoting personal and social development,to promote local development on both material and spiritual levels.
