"Compulsory education stage is a period of rapid development of psychological and physiological development of children and adolescents.It is also a critical period for people to accept music education,enhance music literacy and promote healthy development of mind and body." Since the new era of socialism,music education in education has been receiving more and more attention from education departments,teachers and parents at all levels.In 2011,as the new curriculum standard of the ministry of education,quality education presents a new atmosphere,and music activities is to carry out quality education school,an integral part of the aesthetic education.As an extension of the primary and secondary school music classroom education and extension,elementary school singing activities concentrated education professional and individual character,become the one big characteristic of campus culture,greatly improve the organization ability of teachers and arouse the teachers' innovation ability,increase the elementary student's study interest,enhance their consciousness of cooperation,enrich the elementary student's after school life,make the children happy aesthetic experience.Therefore,the primary school singing activity has become one of the best ways for primary school music extracurricular activities.The current domestic large and medium-sized cities,such as Beijing,Shanghai,guangzhou,zhengzhou,Qingdao and other places of elementary school singing activity has already been mature,the standardization,the various levels of the singing contest of high participation,professional,and marked the national spirit of the quality education curriculum reform,the new education policy guidance,or parents thought in the new period of open sex and their desire for the children develop in an all-round way,from the objective and subjective provides guarantee for the singing activities smoothly.This paper starts from the holding of the singing contest in primary school and it contained five parts as below.Part one is about the necessary of singing contest in primary school,and it is mainly talked about the students' all-round development and practical significance of singing contest.Part two is about the feasibility of singing contest,and it is mainly discussed from the support of policy,influence of social environment,the reform of school curriculum and students' all-round development.Part three is about the form,level and characteristics of singing contest.Part four plays an important role in this thesis,and it is based on the author's experiences.In this part,the author discuss the selection of group members,the timing of singing contest,the selection of work and enthusiasm of group members according to his own experiences.In part five,author provides the summary and analysis for his practices,and discusses current problems and prospect for music activities in the future.Author hopes that the research will have certain directive meaning for the format of music programmes,the selection of group members and works and time schedule.
