As martial arts routines become increasingly competitive,well-executed difficult movements such as vaulting are crucial for athletes to get excellent results. As the most common jumping spin movements in martial arts routines, the tornado kick and the spinning outward crescent kick tend to be prioritized in athletes' training.Unfortunately,it is often mistaken that the height of the vaulting is the key to the high-quality execution of jumping spin.As a result, athletes are only trained to perform explosive exercises for the lower limbs. As a matter of fact, there are many other important factors contributing to high-quality completion of jumping spin, such as speed of spinning, body posture in the air,and energy transmission of the kinetic chain.Practice has shown that the exercise of core strength of the body helps better control body posture, provide proximal fixation, and effectively transfer the energy of upper and lower limbs. Therefore, core strength is the basic force for completing difficult movements such as vaulting. This study attempts to design and incorporate core strength exercise in martial arts routine training in a reasonable manner to make sure that students enjoy improved basic strength, jumping spin techniques, and demonstrate the characteristics of competitive martial arts.Based on literature research, expert interviews, and experiments, this paper focuses on the flight spinning technique and designs core strength training courses for students majored in martial arts routines according to their needs and the suggestions offered by experts. It studies the effect of core strength on jumping spin technique by conducting a 12-week experiment on 16 students from class of 2015 at Shenyang Sport University.By comparing the test scores of certain indicators of the experimental group and the control group before and after the experiment, the paper analyzes the effect of the 12-week core strength training on the swingdown technique of martial arts routine students and the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Both normal special technical training and training that incorporates core strength exercise will help improve the students' core strength. However, there is a more pronounced increase in the muscle strength of the core and the core's ability to control the limbs among students in the experimental group than that of the control group.(2)Compared with typical special technical training, the training that incorporates core exercise can improve students' body posture in the air and boost the score and quality of the movements to varying degrees.Specifically, the trunk is nearly 180 degrees from the hanging leg,the arms quickly fold in front of the chest after an whipping in the air,and there is more consistency in the turning of neck, shoulders and hips.(3)Core strength training helps increase the degree of rotation in the jumping spin movement of the martial arts routine students.Specifically, the degrees of tornado kicks and the spinning outward crescent kicks of the experimental group students have gone up after the experiment, showing significant differences.(4)The students of the control group trained with normal special techniques have markedly improved their spinning outward crescent kicks and jumping spin;there is a slight increase in core strength, but not very obvious;the quality and the degree of rotation of the tornado kicks are slightly improved but without statistical significance.
