Movement preparation is essential to getting human body ready for strenuous exercises, offering a transition from a resting state to an active one. Therefore,it bears great significance in almost all sport events. As a compulsory course in China's institutes of physical education, martial arts routine is deeply loved by teachers and students.Unfortunately,in this course, movement preparation is often taught in a relatively traditional and single form,or not highly relevant to the rest part of the course, which is the weakness shared by the practice of many teachers.Over time, students' interest in the course has been diminished, and the attainment of teaching tasks and objectives jeopardized.Relevant literature has revealed that the movement preparation mode for physical functional training has been receiving more attention and recognition in the teaching and training of many sports events.Lots of experts and scholars have also studied and demonstrated the practical value of movement preparation from different perspectives. However, most of the studies have been conducted from the perspectives of competitive sports, sports training, and high-level athletes. No research has been found on the teaching of movement preparation for functional training in the compulsory martial arts course by the author.Based on document literature, experiments and mathematical statistics, this paper makes an experimental research on the application of movement preparation for physical function training in the compulsory martial arts routine course.Experiments are conducted on two classes of 2015 at Shenyang Sports University who have taken this compulsory course.Traditional movement preparation is applied by the control group, and that for physical functional training adopted by the experimental group.By comparing the results of the experiment, the effect of this movement preparation mode on the fitness, functional movement screening(FMS),Tai Chi and short cudgel learning of the students is analyzed. And major conclusions are as follows:(1)Traditional preparation activities and movement preparation for physical functional training are both effective warm-ups.But the latter also helps promote the coordination of skills, quickly activate the necessary small muscles, slow down the drop of body temperature, enhance muscle proprioception function, improve movement posture, boost energy transmission efficiency, and better awaken and activate the muscular and nervous system.(2)Compared with traditional preparatory activities, the movement preparation for physicalfunctional training used in the martial arts course can improve students' basic physical fitness such as balance, stability, flexibility, and core strength, and proves effective in addressing the movement functional disorder of the practitioners.(3)Compared with traditional preparatory activities, the movement preparation for physical functional training is able to enhance the drills of the 24-move simplified Tai Chi and Grade-3 short cudgel.Specifically, they show better control and more flexible shift of center of gravity, and more uniform speed while exercising Tai Chi;better-performed whole set of techniques, more accurate points of force, more precise movements whole exercising short cudgel.(4)After the experiment, most of the students in the experimental group are positive about“movement preparation for physical functional training ” regarding it to be intriguing with a moderate load and difficulties acceptable for them to adapt to.They practice with a very positive attitude, interest and joy,and a high sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.
