Research On The Factors Influencing The Entrepreneurial Consciousness For Science And Engineering College Students

Today,information and technology are developing so fast.Since the point” Mass entrepreneurship and innovation” put up,Innovation and entrepreneurship has drawn the attention of government,enterprises and universities.Students majoring in science and technology are the main force that universities trained for our country,and are the potentials to promote progress in science and technology.Especially these years,since the number of graduates is increasing in recent years,the employment situation is not as good,so promoting students to start over their own thing seems quite important.The premise of starting a business for science students is consciousness,so the research on the consciousness of them is of great value,which can promote them to start up their own business,and reduce the employment pressure.All in all,the research on the factors influencing the entrepreneurial consciousness of students is quite meaningful and of great value.The study of this paper focuses on the factors that influence the entrepreneurial consciousness of students majoring in science and technology.Through literature reading and investigation,combined with Theory of Planned Behavior,7 factors,including achievement motivation,entrepreneurial quality,interests,attitudes,social network,entrepreneurial environment and personal background are extract.Based on these,a concept model of the entrepreneurial awareness factors is built,and the correlation of these factors is assumed.Through the investigation on 576 science students from Dalian University of Technology,SPSS and smart PLS are used,and using descriptive statistical analysis,reliability test,exploratory factor analysis,differences,and correlation analysis to construct the structural equation model of path coefficient,and then the hypothesis of the model is verified and analyzed.The final results show that,the entrepreneurial consciousness of science students is influenced by 4 factors which includes achievement motivation,entrepreneurial quality,interests,and social network,through the intermediary variable “entrepreneurial attitudes”.At the same time,attitudes,personal background and entrepreneurial environment influence the entrepreneurial consciousness of science students directly,and sex,grades,birth places and whether they ever served as student cadres have a marked impact on their entrepreneurial consciousness.At the last part of this paper,three dimensions of suggestions are given,including “building a support system for science students to start a business”,“constructing a new pattern of entrepreneurship education of university” and “improving the government's entrepreneurial policy support”.
