As one of our basic disciplines,Chinese is an instrumental subject for communication,and also an important discipline to improve people' s quality and accumulate spiritual wealth.Chinese leaning in High school is divided into two major sections,namely reading and writing.The two parts complement each other and have become compulsory for language literacy improvement.In recent years,with the development of curriculum reform,the proportion of reading and writing in the college entrance examination has changed.In 2018,the Chinese test paper in Jilin Province,which also known as the second volume of the national test paper,showed that the proportion of reading increased significantly,especially for the reading of modern Chinese.Not only the quantity of modern Chinese was increased,but also the type of questions was more diversified.Moreover,subjective questions and objective questions were both included,with difficulty increased and test content extended,students are supposed to develop higher language literacy,which requires students to build a higher level of reading ability for fast reading and evolve test-oriented thinking.Nowadays,the students in high school clearly show the lack of corresponding ability and insufficient reading,for which Chinese teachers are supposed to take effective measures to deal with such problems and take the responsibility to improve students' study and furthermore,enhance their language literacy.This paper investigates the teaching status of extracurricular reading in the three grades of the third senior middle school in Yanji City,and fully understands the current situation of extracurricular reading teaching,achievements and difficulties in Chinese reading teaching.In the process of investigation,this paper pinpoints the teaching problems in Chinese extracurricular reading based on the current teaching status,analyzing the influencing factors causing the problems and proposes effective measures for solution to help improve the teaching quality and students' language literacy in the third senior middle school in Yanji City.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction divided into four parts.The first part introduces the issue of this paper;The second part introduces the purpose and significance of the research in this paper;the third part mainly introduces the current research situation of this paper;The forth part of the introduction is mainly about the research methods of this paper and the fifth part defines some concepts involved in this paper.In the second chapter,the survey data collected from the third senior middle school in Yanji city are sorted out and analyzed.In the third chapter,based on the data collected in the investigation,this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the third senior middle school in Yanji City.In the fourth chapter,in terms of the problems mentioned in Chapter three,this paper proposed several effective suggestions for reference.Learning in high school is the most important part of students' learning career.It is the key period for students to develop their outlook on life,world and values.High school Chinese learning plays an imperceptible role in students' daily life.Especially in the study of extracurricular Chinese reading,students can acquire more Chinese knowledge,develop good reading habits,improve self-cultivation and shape a more complete personality.This paper aims to promote the development of teaching in the third high senior middle school in Yanji City and provide reference for more front-line Chinese teachers.
