As the development of all-round education in China,the prevalence of disadvantages in rural arts education,especially the solve of the current issues existed in rural music education,has become the main part of promoting EQO(Essential-qualities-oriented)Education and education equality.This paper,studying and analyzingElementary School Music Education in Hengshui,Mengjin County,through conducting field investigation and exploring the root cause of the issues in rural education,aims to find the reasonable,scientific,and sustainable solutions toward those issues.This investigation,which focuses on quality of music teachers,facilities,curricula,and music activities,mainly uses questionnaires and interviews.The survey's objects include upper-class and middle-class leaders who work in the seven elementary schools in Hengshui,all music teachers,students from Grade 3 to Grade 6,and so on.The investigation shows that the existing problems related to quality of teachers include: the unprofessionalness of music teachers,the lack of full-time music teachers,the weakness of education research,andthe lag of training for teachers after enrollment.The existing problem related to facilities is the low rate of using musical teaching facilities.The exiting problems related to designing curricula include: the invalidity of the national music curriculum and the weakness in creating schools' own curriculum.The existing problems related to extracurricular music activities include: the lack of on-campus music clubs and the non-diversity of extracurricular arts activities,etc.Regarding to the existed issues raised above,this paper raises to make The Elementary Music Studio in Hengshui as the practice object.Given the music studio which collects all high-quality music resources in the county,we intend to improve the quality of elementary music education in Hengshui county by conducting specific actions gradually,including strengthening the teaching resources,modifying in-class teaching,enrich extracurricular music activities,improving evaluation system in music,creating arts school,etc.The operation of The Elementary Music Studio in Hengshui improves the current situations of elementary music education in Hnegshui.The research mode and logic of running of The Elementary Music Studio in Hengshui is model for other schools in rural areas to promote their music education.
