21st Century is such an era that it brings us vigour and vitality, together with crisis and pressure, just as John. Neissbert points out in "great trend" that "we must learn to balance the technological material miracle with the humanity spiritual necessities", however, whether from individual's interest or from exercise-inducing feeling, physical exercise affords a suitable method for people.In the experimental study part, the thesis mainly discussed the relation of male collegians' cognitive psychological well-being with exercise of different intensities and events. 36 male freshmen volunteers participated in the different intensities exercise (running of high, medium, low) experiment, including experimental group(n=27) and control group(n=9). 54 male freshmen volunteers participated in the intensities and events exercise experiment. DDX-200 Multifunction Psychological and physiological Guideline Instrument produced by Beijing Boda electronic company was employed to test reaction time, attention and memorization index etc, 6 guidelines before and after the experiment. Such results have been secured: (1)8 weeks' running can improve the cognitive mental health performance. After exercise, the experimental group's performance improved rapidly, while the control group's performance didn't. (2) In the intensities group, moderate and heavy intensity groups' exercise got better effect of mental health than light intensity group. So the male freshmen's suitable exercise intensity is moderate and heavy intensities. (3) Different exercise events lead to different mental effects. Moderate intensity basketball group and moderate intensity taibo group show better effect on cognition index, compared with the moderate running group. The superiority of basketball and taibo exercise also embodied by that they need lighter intensities. (4) 8 week's exercise does more good to reaction time, but less to attention and memorization index. Considering that the samples are a bit small and the duration are a bit too short, the problem still need further study.
