With popularization of higher education,globalization of economy and networking of information,college students' thoughts have become multiple,and ideology in China has been impacted enormously.Against such backgrounds,new requirements on college students' ideological and political education have been put forward,and hence the significance of college counselors' has been manifested.In recent years,studies on team of college counselors have been on the rise,mainly focusing on the issue of college counselors' profession specialization,profession identification,profession competence and quality,model of competence and so forth.After analyzing and summarizing previous research findings,it is revealed that there exists a close relationship between college counselors' profession identification and their profession competence.In order to study the relationship between college counselors' profession identification and their profession competence,from the perspective of competence,with the combination of qualitative research and quantitative research,this research centers on college counselors' profession identification,examines the connotation,dimension and status quo of college counselors' competency and profession identification,and examines influential mechanism of competency on counselors' profession identification.This study has been made from four aspects.Firstly,the study of the dimensions of college counselors' profession identification and competence.This part compiles a questionnaire about profession identification and competence on the basis of previous study and interviews,and conducts dimensionality reduction through factors analysis,in order to discover the basic dimensions of profession identification and competence.Secondly,the study of status quo of college counselors' profession identification and competence.This part adopts the approach of questionnaire and interviews to display the state of college counselors' profession identification and competence in Zhejiang Province and to summarize its features.Thirdly,the study on the influence of competence on college counselors' profession identification.This part reveals the impacts of competence upon the dimensions of college counselors' profession identification and the impacts of dimensions of competence upon the college counselors' profession identification,through regression analysis of questionnaire and analysis of interviews respectively.Fourthly,the study on the solutions to improve college counselors' profession identification from the perspective of competence.This part proposes suggestions to improve profession identification,on the basis of the summary of the main dimension from which competence has influence on profession identification.The study makes following conclusions.Firstly,college counselors' profession identification consists of such three dimensions as profession recognition,profession values and profession behavior tendency,and college counselors' competence consists of such five dimensions as profession attitude and skills,the consciousness of the students,discipline and political accomplishment,specific service knowledge and theory and practice research capabilities.Secondly,on the whole,college counselors in Zhejiang Province have a higher competence with prominent students'consciousness,positive profession attitude,profession skills and accomplishment needed to be improved and a relatively limited profession knowledge and research ability.Thirdly,college counselors' competence has a stronger positive predication ability to their profession identification,among which students' consciousness,profession attitude and skills,and discipline and political accomplishment have a deeper positive effect.
