Research On The Professional Identity Of College Counselors

As a special group,college counselors play an important role in the aeveiopment of college students and school management.It is of great significance for the construction of counselors'professional team and the development of student management work to clarify their job responsibilities and professional orientation.Nowadays,the change of educational environment brought about by the convergence of ideology and culture and the change of information revolution has penetrated:into all fields of higher education.The integration of academic environment and social environment further increases the difficulty of counselors'work.But at the same time,the construction of professional team of counselors is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.The promotion of relevant government policies further catalyzes the research on the Countermeasures of College counselors.Many experts and scholars have begun a discussion on the construction of professional team of counselors.At present,one of the hotspots of academic discussion on "counselor professionalization" is "identity",and the research on "counselor professional identity" has become the core of the professional team construction.What is the professional identity of counselors?Professional identity of counselors refers to a counselor's view of the work he is engaged in and his understanding of the work.This is the counselor's understanding and thinking of the role he plays,what he should do in his work and why he should do it.For counselors,it is very important to understand their work status and responsibilities.Domestic research on counselors'professional identity is relatively insufficient,especially the lack of relevant research on the connotation,characteristics,levels,types,elements and formation process of counselors' professional identity,and the lack of a systematic literature research framework,which adds some hinders to the development of this study.It is precisely because of this reason that the research on this topic is relatively shallow and scattered,and has not formed a certain system.This paper will further study and discuss the content of counselors'professional identity on the basis of the above-mentioned research,form certain research results,provide suggestions for counselors' work,and give some constructive opinions and suggestions.The research on "professional identity"begins with some research and Analysis on subject teachers'professional identity.Based on these research results,this paper makes a further systematic analysis of counselors' professional skills identity,professional responsibility identity,professional value identity and professional growth process identity.In this study,70 college counselors were randomly selected as survey subjects by questionnaire.The current situation of teachers'professional identity was studied by combining quantitative analysis with qualitative research.Statistical analysis was carried out on the survey results and corresponding conclusions were obtained.This study finds that most counselors in China are optimistic about professional identity nowadays,but this does not mean that they have a good knowledge of professional identity.On the contrary,there is still a lot of room to improve their professional identity.At the same time,counselors lack professional identity and emotions,which shows inadequate motivation,low entry threshold and imperfect personnel management system.In view of the above-mentioned problems,this study takes the two perspectives of counselors themselves and the overall management of schools as an important breakthrough point for further research and discussion,mainly focusing on the specific development direction and corresponding measures of this issue:building the counselors'professional knowledge system,clarifying the scope of professional responsibilities of counselors,enhancing the professional identity of counselors,and describing assistants.The blueprint of professional development of counselors aims to provide theoretical support and institutional guarantee for the development of their professional identity from the aspects of counselors themselves and external conditions.
