Based on the scientific outlook on development,aesthetic education is a necessary condition for China to walk in the forefront of the world in the new era.Colleges and universities bear the important mission to bring talented people with overall quality(including aesthetic quality)to society.In order to develop aesthetic education and let aesthetic consciousness go into our lives,many colleges and universities have taken various measures to emphasize the importance of aesthetic education.S University is a provincial key normal university.Its responsibility is to train more high-quality primary and secondary school teachers for society.These teachers' aesthetic attainments can directly affect the younger generation.Beside cultivating students' solid professional skills,the school should also pay more attention to the overall quality of students.Aesthetic education provides students with opportunities to develop their potential and creates versatile,excellent and high-quality talented people who are more in line with the requirements of the times.Since its establishment,S University's Aesthetic Education School has achieved many successes in the practice of aesthetic education.Considering the school's representativeness among colleges and universities,especially among normal universities,it was selected as the subject of the research.The author consulted the previous literature and sorted out the current situation and necessity of the development of aesthetic education in colleges and universities,as well as the relevant policy documents issued domestically,and organized the literature reviews about the development situation and research status of aesthetic education in colleges and universities at home and abroad.Based on literature,questionnaires and interviews,a deep investigation was made on the current situation of S University's aesthetic education practice.By distributing and collecting questionnaires,interviewing students on the campus,comprehensively analyzing and organizing materials,this article was completed.The first part of this article,Introduction,introduced research background,topic value,literature reviews at home and abroad,the definition of the core concepts of aesthetic education,aesthetic education practice and aesthetic education school,research ideas,meaning and methods,innovation and difficulties.The second part of this article,Theoretical Basis,introduced the theory of college function and the theory of holistic personality education.The third part of this article,practice of aesthetic education in S University,included talent training objectives,aesthetic education practical tasks,ways and practical problems.The fourth part of this article,Survey in S University's Aesthetic Education School described historical origins and the status quo investigated.Among them,the status quo survey included basic conditions,teacher strength,curriculum settings,development characteristics and achievements.The fifth part,problems in S University's Aesthetic Education Practice and the Reasons,included the lack of aesthetic concepts in students,insufficient attention,one-dimensional curriculum settings and activity forms,incomplete evaluation system,and the lack of influence of the school.The sixth part,Strategies for S University's Aesthetic Education Practice,included raising awareness of aesthetic education,expanding the influence of aesthetic education schools,creating a good cultural atmosphere on the campus,using internet technology to enhance the influence of aesthetic education practice,innovating the practice system of aesthetic education.This article,based on the reality,analyzed the characteristics and value of S University's Aesthetic Education School,studied the status quo of aesthetic education practice in colleges and universities,analyzed the problems in the current situation and proposed corresponding solutions,hoping to provide a reference for the aesthetic education practice of other colleges and universities.
