In this study,the Thematic Teaching Model was applied to the primary Chinese vocabulary teaching in a Thai middle school,and the validity of the model in Chinese vocabulary teaching was verified by a comparative experiment.The application of thematic teaching model to vocabulary teaching has improved the teaching effect compared with the traditional model.The students improved the correct rate of vocabulary recognition by 17.22%,the correct rate of concept meaning by 17.36%,the correct rate of vocabulary matching by 9.35%,and the correct rate of vocabulary activation by 21.66%.In addition,the number of students actively involved in classroom learning and interaction increased by 50%.This shows that the Thematic Teaching Model can improve the teaching effect of primary Chinese vocabulary and help students master vocabulary better.This thesis consists of six chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the reason and significance of the topic,the research contents and methods,as well as the theoretical basis of the research.The second chapter demonstrates the selection of experimental objects,experimental factors and corpus,and expounds the process of the two stages of the experiment.The third chapter is a contrastive analysis of vocabulary recognition and lexical conceptual achievement,and the fourth chapter is a contrastive analysis of lexical collocation and activation.The fifth chapter is to analyze and summarize the questionnaire results of students' attitude towards vocabulary learning and the behavior records of participation.The sixth chapter is a reflection on the application of Thematic Teaching Model to primary Chinese vocabulary teaching in a Thai middle school.This model has more advantages in vocabulary teaching,such as pertinence,interest,flexibility,and close to the actual life of students,and so on.However,there are also some disadvantages in Chinese vocabulary teaching.This model is not conducive to the cultivation of ability to write Chinese characters in practical teaching.It also ignores morpheme-based lexical expansion.These are the aspects that need to be improved in the teaching of Chinese vocabulary.
