Chinese characters are not only one of the carriers of Chinese traditional culture for thousands of years,but also contain rich connotations of Chinese traditional culture.Learning Chinese characters is the basis of reading and writing,and the teaching focus of Chinese subject in the lower grades of primary school.Therefore,the teaching of literacy is particularly important in the teaching of Chinese in the lower grades.At present,there are many drawbacks in traditional literacy teaching methods:dismembering the shape of Chinese characters,memorizing Chinese characters mechanically,pursuing multiple literacy,neglecting cultural infiltration,interpreting Chinese characters vulgarly,misreading Chinese characters culture,and so on.The main reason is that it ignores the ideographic characteristics of Chinese characters and violates the laws of Chinese characters.Source literacy method is an ancient literacy teaching method in China.Its scientificity and effectiveness have gone through the test of history.Today,it still plays an irreplaceable role in literacy teaching.First,it can excavate the origin of Chinese characters and stimulate interest in literacy;second,it can reveal the intention of word formation and enhance understanding and memory.Thirdly,it can promote cognitive development and improve thinking ability;fourthly,it can cultivate aesthetic ability and inherit Chinese character culture.Although it has many advantages,it has been ignored by many teachers.The main reasons are the shortage of teaching resources,the lack of teachers' etymological theoretical knowledge and the "cultural vacancy" in the evaluation criteria of Chinese character teaching,which results in the marginalization of etymological literacy and thus fails to play its due role.The effective measures to improve this situation are: the educational departments and academia should enrich the source resources;the normal students and teachers of Chinese Language and Literature major should try their best to learn the source culture and improve their teaching ability;change the only number of teaching evaluation standards and optimize the evaluation methods of literacy teaching.According to the cognitive characteristics of the lower grade students,the micro-source literacy experiment was carried out on the basis of following the rule of Chinese characterformation,which proved that the source literacy teaching was welcomed by the students and had a certain effect.At the same time,by summarizing the existing problems in the teaching process and putting forward the improvement methods,the aim is to provide reference for the better use of the etymological literacy method in literacy teaching practice.
