Composition is one of the important contents of primary school students' Chinese learning.Sometimes,the level of writing ability can influence the Chinese achievement to the greatest extent.At present,in the context of the information age,the attitude of primary school students towards writing seems to be inactive,and the overall level of writing ability also shows a downward trend.Therefore,improving pupils' writing ability has always been a topic for many scholars and teachers.Language teachers on the front line of education are also eager to obtain effective and feasible ways to improve students' writing ability,which can adapt to the changes of the times.Starting from the theoretical point of view of the predecessors on the ability of composition and composition teaching,this paper consults the literature of famous countries at home and abroad on improving students' writing ability,and finds that there have been many studies on the methods of improving students' writing ability.The author chooses the fifth grade group of a primary school in Shanghai to investigate the writing ability of the pupils,and then interviews the front-line Chinese teachers of the school to understand the current situation of the fifth grade students' writing ability.Then,through the group composition teaching practice cases and individual composition teaching practice cases,it is believed that on the basis of understanding students' writing ability,guiding composition is more targeted.On the basis of questionnaires,interviews and case studies,the author analyses the reasons that affect pupils' writing ability,including the influence of students' life experience on writing ability,the influence of composition evaluation and criteria on writing ability,the influence of composition course time setting on writing ability,and the influence of gender differences on writing ability.Finally,from the point of view of composition teaching,four suggestions are put forward to improve the writing ability of primary school students: first,to improve the guiding methods of composition teaching,teachers should learn more;second,to improve the evaluation criteria of composition,not too single;third,to arrange reasonably the time of composition teaching,and make full composition guidance before class;fourth,to pay attention to students.Development and change,keep pace with the times,combine home and school,create a good writing environment for students.
