China and Africa have always been destiny communities,and we are closely linked by our common historical experience,common development tasks and common strategic interests.Especially since the establishment of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation,exchanges and cooperation between China and Africa in political,economic and cultural fields have become more frequent.Both sides support each other and work hand in hand to advance a new chapter of friendship in the era.The Shaolin Kungfu African Class of the Ministry of Culture is a concrete presentation of China-Africa relations in the new era.Studying the cross-cultural adaptation of the Shaolin Kungfu African Class of the Ministry of Culture is conducive to improving the quality and efficiency of cross-cultural communication of Shaolin Kungfu,and it also can provide an important reference for China-Africa cultural exchange and cooperation.This paper research on the cross-cultural adaptation by using the methods of literature,field investigation and cultural comparison.The study finds that there are three types of cross-cultural adaptation problems in the transition from mother culture to host culture in Shaolin Kungfu African class of the Ministry of Culture:(1)Sociocultural adaptation includes adaptation to daily life,curriculum learning and Kungfu training;(2)Interpersonal adaptation includes adaptation to communication scopes,communication ways and group relationships;(3)Psychological adaptation includes homesickness,discrimination and prejudice of others and pressure of cultural adaptation.Finally,the paper summarizes the typical problems of African students in the process of cross-cultural adaptation.The research recommends that efforts should be made to improve the cross-cultural adaptation of African class students in the following three aspects:From the perspective of cross-cultural individuals:(1)Improving cross-cultural communication skills,making communication actively and reflecting problems timely.(2)Promoting cultural self-confidence,respecting cultural differences and promoting cultural exchanges.(3)Cherish the opportunities for exchanges and take the growth of knowledge,ability and friendship between China and Africa as the starting point.From the perspective of Shaolin Temple:(1)To improve the quality of monks and their teaching and cross-cultural communication ability so that ensure the quality of communication.(2)Shaolin Temple should attach importance to the issue of religion and individual competence,try to avoid cultural conflicts and promote group harmony.(3)Shaolin Temple should maintain close and lasting links with intercultural groups and expand the scope of dissemination and integrate communication paths.From the perspective of governments:(1)To select the excellent cultural exchange groups and organize the early cross-cultural training so that the two sides tends to frequent exchanges and communication tends to be beneficial.(2)The financial base is the material guarantee of international communication,the governments and relevant organizations should strengthen financial support for the field of talent exchange in order to ensure close visits and exchanges between the two sides.
