Chinese socialism characteristics has entered a new era,and China has entered a critical period of transformation from a big population country to a powerful human resources country.In order to promote the long-term sustainable development of the population,China has put forward the " universal two-child policy" since the Fifth Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee,and officially implemented on January 1st,2016.Once the policy was promulgated,it received a positive response from the broad masses.Everyone made preparations for the arrival of the second child.However,the arrival of the second child has had a series of changes and influences on the families of the 80's and 90's who are used to the onechild model.It is more common for the elder children of two-child families to cope with various problems when their mothers give birth to the second child.It is an important measure to promote family harmony and happiness to carry out mental health education for the elder children so as to solve various problems and contradictions brought about by the second child.Psychological health education for the elder children has gradually gained public attention after a series of their abnormal behaviors appeared after the implementation of the "universal two-child policy" in China.It is of great practical and theoretical significance to carry out mental health education for elder children.This paper mainly investigates and analyses the possible psychological problems and their influencing factors of the elder children from the background of the " universal two-child policy".Based on the current situation of family education and primary school mental health education,this paper studies the contents,principles,methods and approaches of the elder children's mental health education in China,so as to help the parents of the two-child family to detect the psychological changes of the elder children in a timely manner and take effective measures to cope with them and also take measures to promote their mental health development and self-growth.The research of mental health education for elder children in China is at the initial stage.We need to sum up experience through continuous practice and actively explore the development path of mental health education for elder children that suits our national conditions,so as to lay a solid foundation for building a healthy China.
