Academic delayed gratification refers to the tendency of individuals to delay immediate gratification in order to pursue long-term academic goals.Family socioeconomic status refers to the family's rank, level and status in society. It is usually measured by such indicators as parents' educational level, parents' professional level and family finance.Through consulting relevant studies at home and abroad,we can see that family socio-economic status has a very important impact on individual development. However, few studies have explored the impact of various indicators of family socio-economic status on academic delay of gratification, and the former has less discussion on the internal psychological mechanism of the latter. In this study,500 students were randomly selected from three middle schools in Xinyang area as subjects.Family Socio-economic Status Questionnaire,Academic Delay Satisfaction Scale and Impulsive Personality Character Scale were used as measuring tools.SPSS19.0 software was used for data analysis and processing to explore the relationship between family socio-economic status and Academic Delay Satisfaction, and to reveal the relationship between family socio-economic status and academic Delay Satisfaction from the perspective of impulsivity. The social and economic status of courtyard affects the mechanism of academic delay of gratification. The results show that:(1)There is a significant positive correlation between the four indicators of family socio-economic status, namely parents' professional grade, parents' educational level, and the academic delay of gratification score of middle school students, while there is no significant correlation between family property and academic delay of gratification.(2)Father's educational level significantly positively predicted middle school students' academic delay of gratification, while age significantly negatively predicted middle school students' academic delay of gratification.(3)Mothers' educational level and working level negatively predicted middle school students' impulsiveness.(4)The four indicators of family socio-economic status, namely parents' professional grade and parents' educational level all act on academic delay of gratification through impulsive complete mediation, while family property does not act on academic delay of gratification through impulsive mediation variable. This study explores the impact of various indicators of family socio-economic status on academic delay of gratification and its mechanism in the context of China. The results of the study can not only verify the rationality of some theories, but also provide a possible reference for students' educational work.
