Objective: To investigate the effects of smoking and physical activity cardiopulmonary endurance, and the effects of interactions between smoking and physical activity cardiopulmonary endurance. Methods:The study recruited 420 male subjects between the ages of 20 and 69 in Beijing and Hezhou,Guangxi.420 subjects were assessed for smoking and physical activity using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire and the Health Checkup Questionnaire, and were divided into 2 large groups(6subgroups).They are smoking group(low level physical activity n=45;medium level physical activity n=69;high level physical activity n=74),non-smoking group(low level physical activity n=38;medium level physical activity n=92;high level physical activity n=102).The peak oxygen uptake was measured by a power car step-by-step incremental load test.Statistical analysis was performed using statistical software Spss 22.0.Result:(1)Age,height,weight,BMI,resting blood pressure and cardiopulmonary endurance were all related.Except for height and cardiopulmonary endurance, other basic indicators were negatively correlated with cardiopulmonary endurance.(2)Smoking index was negatively correlated with cardiopulmonary endurance(r=-0.395,p<0.01).People with high smoking index had lower cardiopulmonary strength, and smokers' cardiopulmonary endurance was significantly lower than non-smokers.(3)There were significant differences between the groups of different physical activity levels(p<0.01),and the high physical activity level group was significantly statistically significant(P<0.05,p<0.01).There was no significant difference between the middle physical activity level group and the low physical activity level group(p>0.05).(4)There was no interaction between smoking and physical activity levels on cardiopulmonary endurance(p>0.05).Conclusion:(1)Cardiopulmonary endurance in adult males is affected by manyfactors such as age, height, weight, and resting blood pressure.(2)The cardiopulmonary strength of smokers is lower than that of non-smokers,and the higher the smoking index, the worse the cardiopulmonary endurance.(3)The effect of high physical activity level on cardiopulmonary endurance is more significant.(4)The level of smoking and physical activity has no interaction with cardiopulmonary endurance.
