Population aging refers to the demographic transition process in which the proportion of the elderly population in the total population is rising due to the low fertility rate and the low mortality rate,and the proportion of the population in other age stages in the total population is declining.With the aging of major developed countries in the world,the process of global population aging is gradually accelerating,and population aging has become a serious problem to be solved in many countries.At present,Japan is one of the countries with the most severe aging population in the world.As of June 2018,the total population of Japan is 126.5 million,among which the population aged 65 and above accounts for about 28% of the total population,and the population aged 15 and below accounts for about 12.2% of the total population.More serious is,the future of Japan's aging population has further aggravated the trend.With the increase of age,people's psychology and physiology are changing,and aging is bound to produce many social and economic problems,and at the same time,it will have an important impact on consumption.From the perspective of consumption structure,this paper explores the impact of aging population on consumption in Japan.This paper describes the current situation of the aging population in Japan,and analyzes the characteristics of the aging population in Japan and the future development trend.On this basis,combined with the Japanese economic background,the consumption structure of Japan from 1985 to 2017 was described in stages,and related to the demographic age structure of the same period.After that,the relationship between Japan's aging population and consumption structure is analyzed,which mainly covers the direct impact and indirect impact.In the aspect of empirical analysis,this paper USES the data of the statistics bureau of the ministry of general affairs of Japan and the grey relational degree analysis method to analyze the impact of population aging and consumption structure.It is concluded that the degree of demand of the aging population on the consumption structure of ten categories is sorted into medical care category,transportation and communication category,water and gas category,food category,education category,cultural and entertainment supplies and services category,residential category,household equipment supplies and services category,other goods and services category and clothing category.Based on the influence of Japan's population is ageing existing about Japan's future evolution trend of the consumption structure,from the trend of the consumption expenditure project adjustment and adjust the trend of the consumption idea,describes this perspective,the future evolution of Japan's consumption structure to present the following trend: food consumer spending continues to increase,further promoting of contracted with environmental protection,personal consumption growth,housing "sharing",people communicate place of transition and development of "consumption" phenomenon.In view of the impact of the aging population on the consumption structure,it is necessary to accelerate the development of the elderly industry to promote the consumption of the elderly,and at the same time to improve the disposable income of the elderly in order to enhance the consumption ability of the elderly.In terms of improving the consumption ability of the elderly,we should expand the re-employment opportunities and break the old people's inherent consumption concepts while guaranteeing their income.In terms of the development of aging industry,we mainly rely on vigorously developing aging related industries and actively promoting advanced industry to promote the consumption of the elderly.
