Reading is the most important way of cognition,and it is also the way people understand the world and inherit culture.Although the carrier of reading has undergone a revolution from paper printing to digital,information is presented in a richer and more diverse way,but reading is still “the process by which readers receive materials and extract meaning and emotional information”.The process of internalization is the unification of material processes and spiritual processes.This essence has not changed.The emergence of digital reading has greatly improved the national reading rate,changed the way information is presented,and also derived a new form of reading-fragmented reading.The prevalence of fragmented reading in the group of college students,on the one hand,enables college students to obtain massive information at any time,on the other hand,it also invisibly distracts the attention of college students and affects the deep thinking ability of college students.In the 21 st century,reading still plays an irreplaceable role.Good information literacy is an essential skill for talents in the 21 st century.The essence of reading does not change with the development of reading style,correctly understand the essential connotation of fragmented reading,face the impact of fragmented reading on college students,and avoid the negative impact of excessive fragmentation reading on college students.The key to information literacy is also the key to promoting the in-depth reform of undergraduate education.Based on learning and combing from related literatures at home and abroad,we analyzes the essential connotation and value of reading,defines the concept of fragmented reading,and analyzes the impact of fragmented reading.Furthermore,from the perspective of information processing theory,the fragmented reading of college students is divided into four dimensions: reading purpose,content screening,attention processing and information internalization,and compiling a fragmented reading questionnaire for college students.Through the pre-survey test of the reliability and validity of the questionnaire,it is found that the questionnaire has good reliability and validity,and is suitable as a survey tool for this study.On the one hand,this study investigated the fragmented reading of 1059 undergraduate students in Henan University,using SPSS22.0 statistical software,using descriptive analysis,differential analysis and other statistical methods to process the data,and obtain the overall fragmentation reading of college students.The status indicate the differences in different grades,genders,and professions.On the other hand,this study interview 20 undergraduate students at Henan University through online and offline methods to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of fragmented reading on college students and its causes.The results show that the current fragmented reading of undergraduates in Henan University is generally at a general level.Students of different grades,majors and genders have significant differences in different dimensions.Combining the interview results,it is concluded that the fragmented reading of college students has the following characteristics: The purpose of fragmented reading is diversified,and the time of boring is the main motive;the content of high-quality reading is more favored by college students;the classroom becomes the main situation of fragmented reading of college students;fragmented reading makes it difficult to return to the original learning task.The boundary function of the reading platform makes college students feel "collected".The impact of fragmented reading on college students is reflected in the following aspects: massive information affects college students' reading choices;virtual network socialization is more favored by college students than real-world social networking;unreasonable time planning leads to increased fragmentation reading frequency;lack of independence Thinking ability leads to college students.Based on the above research findings,this paper proposes corresponding suggestions for the fragmented reading of college students from three aspects: social environment and network construction,college education and individual college students,mainly by creating a good reading atmosphere and incorporating reading into the education system.Reading environment construction;improving the quality of network information resources by strengthening network supervision and regulation;improving the investment input of college students by setting up reading courses,arranging semester courses and innovative evaluation mechanism,so as to avoid false investment in learning;guiding college students to plan their time reasonably,Enhance self-learning awareness and deep thinking ability,so that fragmented information can be incorporated into its own knowledge structure and use fragmented reading efficiently.
