Spielberg defines anger as an emotional state, which includes feelings of varying intensity, ranging from mild irritation or annoyance to intense anger to rage.Anger can be divided into state anger and trait anger.Bandura and Caprara put forward the complete concept of emotional regulation self-efficacy,that is、whether individuals can effectively regulate their own emotions a sense of self-confidence and ability. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among anger, emotional self-efficacy and mental health. The physiological maturity of senior school students and their psychological changes in society, family and school lead to the self-consciousness of senior school adolescents in a period of development full of contradictions. Therefore,it provides theoretical basis for senior school students to better pass this special stage of life, and has important significance for the development of their mental health. This study used Trait-State Anger Scale,Chinese Middle School Students Mental Health Scale and Emotional Regulation Self-efficacy Scale to investigate 625 senior high school students in three grades of a middle school in Tianjin. The results showed that:(1)anger and regulation emotion self-efficacy of senior school students were significant in different gender, only child and grade. There were no significant differences in mental health level among different genders, singletons and grades.Specifically, compared with female senior school students, male senior school students have lower trait anger, higher state anger and stronger anger control. In terms of regulation emotion self-efficacy,male senior school students have significantly higher level of expressing positive emotional efficacy than female senior school students, and significantly lower level of managing negative emotional efficacy than female senior school students. The trait anger of only-child is lower than that of non-only-child,and the self-efficacy of emotional regulation is equal. The self-efficacy of anger control and emotion regulation in the second grade of senior high school was significantly higher than that in the first and third grade of senior high school.(2)Trait anger is negatively correlated with emotional self-efficacy and mental health of senior high school students, while state anger is negatively correlated with emotional self-efficacy and mental health.(3)regulatory emotion self-efficacy plays a partial mediating role between state anger and mental health;regulatory emotion self-efficacy plays a partial mediating role between trait anger and mental healthConclusion:(1)senior school students show different characteristics in anger, regulation emotion self-efficacy and mental health.(2)The higher the score of trait anger and state anger, the worse the emotional self-efficacy,the greater the possibility of mental health problems;on the contrary, the higher the score of emotional self-efficacy,the less the possibility of mental health problems.(3)Trait anger affects mental health through emotional regulation of self-efficacy;state anger affects mental health through regulation emotion of self-efficacy.
