"Reading ability" is of great significance to a person's lifelong development.International research on reading ability mainly includes PISA,an international student achievement evaluation project,and PIRLS,an international research project on the progress of reading ability.These two projects test students'reading literacy and reading level according to their reading ability and reading literacy content,so as to improve reading teaching.On March 30,2014,in the Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Fully Deepening the Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Lide-Shuren,China first put forward the concept of "core literacy".Implementing reading literacy into subject teaching becomes the key to the core literacy of Chinese.Reading ability is the basis of forming reading literacy,so the strategy of improving reading ability plays a vital role.This study combines the psychology of junior high school students,the present situation of reading teaching and reading ability as well as the related research of literature at home and abroad.Starting from the factors affecting students'reading ability,it puts forward strategies to improve junior high school students' reading ability through practice.This paper aims to improve the reading ability of the first grade students in junior middle school,and puts forward the reading teaching strategies,mainly from the following four parts.The first part studies the strategies of improving reading ability at home and abroad,and finds out the problems by analyzing the relevant literature at home.The second part,taking the problems into the experimental school,through the investigation of the students'reading teaching status and reading ability,confirms the problems mentioned above,and concludes that the strategies of reading teaching can improve the reading ability of the students in the first grade of junior middle school.The third part,based on the new curriculum reform and practice as well as Professor Morley's reading ability factor load table,analyses the reading ability that students need to cultivate;the fourth part,from the perspective of international theory,puts forward corresponding strategies according to the reading ability structure.
