| This paper focuses on the problem of Chinese character writing in a Chinese class of Hurstville South Public School in Sydney.A total of 850 primary Chinese character writing materials were collected and 968 errors in Chinese character writing were counted.Through this class,we can see the errors in the primary Chinese character writing of the Chinese primary school students in Sydney.Writing errors of the students in this class can be divided into five categories:structural errors, component errors, strokes errors, other characters errors and comprehensive errors.Among them, stroke errors and component errors accounted for the largest proportion. With the increase of learning section, the proportion of stroke errors decreased, component errors increased, and structural errors, other words and comprehensive errors accounted for a relatively constant proportion. The reasons for these errors are not only the factors of Chinese characters themselves, but also the factors of teachers, students and other factors, such as parents, class hours, textbooks, language environment and so on.To solve these errors, first of all, teachers need to give full play to their subjective initiative and find ways from their own, textbooks, parents and classroom.Secondly, they can tap the characteristics of Chinese characters themselves and make use of their motivation, interest and systematicness to enrich the Chinese character classroom. There is still much room for the study of Chinese character teaching for overseas Chinese children.I hope this paper can provide some references. |
