Under the vigorous promotion of China,Mongolia has gradually established a perfect Chinese teaching system.However,Chinese character teaching in Mongolia is relatively backward.In particular,the research on Chinese character teaching for students with zero-basis Chinese level is not complete.As an important component of Chinese teaching,the teaching of Chinese characters plays an important role in it.The Chinese character teaching in Mongolia still has some shortcomings compared with other Chinese teaching regions.The mother tongue used by Mongolian students is Cyrillic,an alphabetic writing of phonetic systems while Chinese characters combine ideographic writing with phonetic writing with the former taking up a dominant role.These two different writing systems lead to the emergence of various Chinese character writing errors in the process of writing for students with zero-basis Chinese level in Mongolia.Based on studies done by previous scholars and the author's one-year teaching practice and survey in Mongolia,the author takes 80 students with zero-basis Chinese level from Mongolia No.52 State Middle School as the research objects.Through collecting and analyzing corpora on students' Chinese character writing errors,the author classifies students' Chinese character writing errors into the four categories of whole character,structure,components,and strokes,in which most of the errors fall under the category of stroke errors.Stroke errors can also be subdivided into stroke sequence errors,stroke number errors,stroke shape errors,and stroke combination errors;component errors fall into component displacement errors,component deformation errors,and component confusion errors;structural errors can be divided into stroke pattern errors and structural transfer errors;and whole character errors can be divided into errors on characters with similar forms and errors on characters with similar sound.The author summarizes and sorts out altogether 11 small types of Chinese character writing errors.Based on sorting out and analyzing error types,the author carries out a survey and interviews on students and Chinese teachers,explores the reasons for the emergence of errors in Chinese character writing by students,and offers targeted teaching countermeasures on the writing of Chinese characters.
