In demand for the modernization of the university's governance system and capabilities, undergraduates' managerial participation has lbecome one of the essential requirements for "shared governance"within modern universities.Although policies had implemented in many universities to encourage students to participate in the management, these are still in the stage of primary exploration and appeal.Because the concept cannot keep pace, the system norms are not perfect, the channels are not smooth enough and the students' participation is not enough. At present, there are many theoretical studies about this issue.Much effort have been made to explore new methods to integrate students into the shared governance, and lots of constructive opinions and suggestions have been put forward, but the process is moving slow and the results are not obvious..In behavioral science, the theory of planned behavior is a powerful tool for studying, interpreting and predicting the intention of individual behavior. If we can start from the students' intention and analyze the reasons why they are not active in college management,we may find new breakthroughs.Presently, the theory of planned behavior has applied to many fields related to the behavior of college students, but there is still a lack of research on s undergraduates'managerial participation. Therefore, this study intends to conduct an empirical study on the causes and consequences of students'intention and behavior from the perspective of the theory of planned behavior. This study first sort out the relevant literature, then selects the undergraduates of H University as the survey object, summarizes the variables needed for the survey through interviews, and integrates them into self-made scales, including attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control scales.Next, reliability and validity tests have carried out. Moreover, through the relevant analysis, regression analysis, discriminant analysis, and descriptive statistical analysis, the following main research conclusions are drawn:Firstly, the three self-made scales have good reliability and validity;secondly, students'attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control are significant positively correlated to the intention on participation;thirdly, attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavior control have positive predictive effects on students'intention on participation.Fourthly, students'intention on participation has a predictive effect on participation behavior.Fifthly, demographic variables have varying degrees of influence on attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavior control and intention on participation.Last but not the least, some solutions have been put forward after the discussion of the results, they are to cultivate students',positive attitude;to empower the important groups and person to play their roles;to provide enough opportunities for students.
