Mathematical problem-solving ability is an important symbol of students'mathematics literacy. To cultivate students'ability to solve mathematical problems is an important goal of primary school mathematics education.Problem solving is a hot topic of mathematics education put forward internationally in recent years, and it is also a trend of mathematics education development at home and abroad.Previous elementary school teaching used application questions as an important carrier or even the only way to cultivate students'problem-solving ability. In fact, the process of mathematics learning itself should be a process of problem solving. It is more and more important for mathematics teachers to cultivate students'ability to raise, analyze and solve problems in situations. To explore and cultivate students' strategies to solve various problems has also become the focus of current research. This study first summarizes and summarizes relevant literature at home and abroad.Based on the existing research, the research is carried out. This paper defines the concepts of mathematical problems, problem solving and mathematical problem solving ability according to the process of problem solving and the requirements of Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2011 edition),and analyzes the division and strategy of mathematical problem solving.Secondly, combined with the relevant knowledge of pedagogy and psychology, this paper attributes the problems of pupils'problem-solving ability from the perspectives of teachers and pupils.Thirdly, aiming at the problems and reasons of pupils'problem-solving ability, combining with real teaching cases and the suggestions of front-line teachers and related theories, the paper puts forward some strategies to cultivate pupils' problem-solving ability in mathematics. Finally, after learning the different problem-solving strategies, the students were trained and instructed.Questionnaires and interviews were conducted to test whether the students'problem-solving ability had been improved. This has enriched our modern mathematics education theory to a certain extent, and also provided a reference for the future theoretical research in this area.
