Study On The Impact Of Population Aging Onlabor Supply In Shandong Province

Since the end of the 20 th century and the beginning of the 21 st century,the problem of population aging has gradually emerged,which poses enormous challenges to the economic and social development of various countries and regions.The sustainable development of the social economy needs to be based on an adequate workforce.The aging of the population not only caused an increase in the size of the elderly population and an increase in the proportion of the elderly population,but also change the proportion of the population in all age groups.As the degree of aging continues to deepen,the scale,weight and age structure of the labor force will undergo a series of changes,which will have a certain impact on the level of labor supply.Therefore,these effects are mainly reflected in many changes in the quantity of labor supply,the age structure of labor,and the labor participation rate.These effects will also have an impact on population development and labor input,which will affect the sustainability and stability of economic and social development.Shandong Province is a populous province with a population size that ranks among the top in the country.With the increasing number of elderly people,in 2017,Shandong has entered a moderately aging society,and the labor supply has also shown a reduction in the number of labor,an aging age structure of labor,and a downward trend in labor participation rates.These effects cannot be ignored and need to be given high priority.Studying the impact of population aging on labor supply in Shandong Province and the future development trend of labor supply is of great significance to Shandong Province to better solve the negative impact of population aging on labor supply.Based on population theory and labor supply theory,this paper makes a qualitative and quantitative analysis about the situation of population aging and labor supply in Shandong Province.It is found that the degree of aging in Shandong Province is becoming more and more serious,the age structure of the labor force is aging,and the labor participation rate is beginning to decline.Based on the population aging status quo and the labor supply of Shandong Province,this paper uses the sixth census data in 2010 to predict the development trend of population and labor supply in Shandong Province from 2020 to 2050,and finds that the degree of aging in Shandong Province is still continued to deepen,and the total population will show a downward trend after reaching its peak,and the working-age population will also decline year by year.Based on the theoretical basis and the reality,a multivariate linear regression model was established to empirically study the impact of population aging on the labor participation rate in Shandong Province.It was concluded that when the relevant influencing factors were controlled,The aggravation of aging in Shandong Province will reduce the labor participation rate.Combining the status quo analysis and empirical analysis,it proposes that improve the relevant provisions of the birth policy and the labor market,increase the supply of labor;develop the capital of the elderly,increase the supply of the elderly labor force;vigorously develop the "silver hair industry" and create new jobs;encourage the labor force to the third Industrial transfer,promote employment;improve the quality of workers to enhance the quality of labor supply in Shandong Province and other countermeasures.
