Junior school students are future constructors and successors of the socialism with Chinese characteristics.Their political accomplishment levels are closely related to China's future and destiny.Therefore,it is a major task facing the ideology and morality teachers of junior school to conduct targeted education in accordance with the students' current political accomplishment level,thereby making improvement and adapting to the demands of social development.Firstly,this paper expounds the importance of political literacy for junior high school students from the perspective of social development and junior high school students themselves and the role of ideological and moral courses in improving junior high school students' political literacy.Secondly,the status quo of junior high school students' political literacy is analyzed,and it is pointed out that junior high school students' political literacy has been greatly improved in recent years,and their recognition of mainstream thoughts and values is dominant.But on the other hand,some junior high school students have problems in political participation ability,degree of internalization of political theory and cultivation of political literacy.In view of the existing problems,this paper analyzes the causes of the problems from the aspects of the teaching mode,teaching method and teachers' comprehensive quality of ideological and moral courses in junior middle schools.Finally,this paper discusses how to adopt effective strategies and methods in ideological and moral teaching to strengthen the cultivation of political literacy of junior high school students.Based on the characteristics of junior high school students' thoughts and the existing problems and causes of junior high school students' political literacy,this paper puts forward specific countermeasures from the five aspects of teaching content,teaching concept,teaching method,teaching environment and teachers' comprehensive quality.
