After years of development,China's vocational education has achieved progress in both its scale expansion and its connotation improvement.Under the background of educational modernization,the construction of the teaching staff of vocational education in China cannot satisfy the requirements of modern vocational education now.There are problems including a shortage of qualified vocational teachers,a lack of practical experience,and a low level of professional development.There are many reasons which account for the above-mentioned problems,among which the vocational teacher training model is a key factor.The selection of the training mode for vocational education teachers greatly affects the supply and development of the quality of vocational teachers.Meanwhile,vocational education has developed a relatively mature mode for the training of in-service teachers in developed countries,which can provide meaningful experience for China to improve the efficiency and level of vocational teacher training.The thesis,based on the research of a relatively mature mode-American vocational teacher training mode,analyzes its practical experience and features at a deeper level.Furthermore,the thesis puts forward some inspirations that can be borrowed by China on the reform of its vocational teacher training model.The thesis consists of five parts.The first part introduces the background,significance,direction,methods and contents of the related research as well as the research of the literature in this area at home and abroad.The second part is based on the introduction of the historical development and current situation of American vocational training mode for teachers.In addition,it elaborates the basic concepts as well as the structure of it and further concludes that the vocational training for teachers in America is gradually formed and completed in practice.Meanwhile,it analyzes two mainstream models of US vocational teacher training.The third part exhibits and focuses on a detailed analysis of the basis methods,main features as well as the developmental trend of US vocational training for teachers.Part four gives a specific introduction of the major existing vocational training modes for teachers in China and further concludes the experiences and advantages accumulated from these modes.It also analyzes the current problems of the vocational training mode for Chinese teachers.Based on the discussion and analysis in the third and fourth parts,part 5 summarizes the inspirations that can be borrowed from American vocational education mode,including its related policy,training system,curriculum provision and certification system.It further presents detailed countermeasures and suggestions in this aspect,hoping to help improve the current vocational education training for teachers in China.
