In the era of knowledge economy,the essence of competition among enterprise is the human resource.This results in improved standard for the staff quality and learning ability.Therefore,how to get and train excellent staff and leader has always been the company development target.The American corporate university(CU)was born in this background.After years of development,the CUs with successful personnel training mode plays an important role in the US economic development.Meanwhile,the accelerated economic development and enhanced market competition compel the enterprise to pay more attention on study.Therefore,the spring up and development of the CU is unescapably.However,due to lack of development time,the student cultivating process of CU in China has the problem in both theory and practice,resulting no actual effect.To solve the above problem,it is necessary to explore and analysis the America CU personnel training mode,which offers valuable experience for our country.Basing on this background,this paper did the research on the three aspects below by adopting the case study methods:Firstly,the background of the subject,purpose and meaning of research,as well as the core concept were introduced.Then,we researched the US CU development history,current situation and tendency,which laid the groundwork for the study of US CU personnel training mode.Secondly,the CU personnel training mode is divided into three groups basing on the training object and content of the courses,i.e.the domestic mode aiming for leadership improvement,the half-open mode aiming for skill improvement and the external mode aiming for management development.Then three US CUs,including the GE Welch leadership development center,Motorola university and the HP business school,were selected as the representatives of the above three modes.And then they were analyzed from the training objective,course system,teaching mode,faculty and assessment methods,to give a deep explanation of the US CU personnel training mode.At last,we made a summary on the US CU personnel training mode achievement and analyzed the current situation and problems exist in our country.Efforts should be made on definitizing the personnel training object,enhancing the participation of the administrator,perfecting the teachers system and intensify the interior teacher training,to establish the personnel training mode with Chinese characteristics.
