| Since the beginning of the 21 st century,with the internationalization of higher education,the number of our country’s students studying abroad has increased year by year.Russia has many world-class universities and is one of the main choices for Chinese students to go abroad.With the increasing number of Chinese students studying in Russia,the issue of cross-cultural adaptation of students,especially academic adaptation,has become increasingly serious.In recent years,there are some studies on the cross-cultural adaptation of foreign students in our country and abroad,most of them pay attention to the social and cultural adaptation of foreign students,but the research on the academic adaptation of foreign students needs to be deepened.Cultural intelligence can comprehensively consider the adaptability of foreign students to changes in the external environment and their ability to adjust in the context of cross-cultural adaptation.It is an important antecedent variable for studying crosscultural adaptation.This paper introduces cultural intelligence as a study of academic adaptation perspective of Chinese students in Russia.Firstly,it investigates and analyzes the cultural intelligence and academic adaptation of Chinese students in Russia.Secondly,it analyzes the influence of demographic variables and the three variables of pre-Russian knowledge of university,Russian level and pre-departure training on cultural intelligence and academic adaptation.Then,it discusses the correlation between cultural intelligence and academic adaptation and studied the impact of demographic variables on the above correlations;Finally,the social support status of international students in academic adaptation was investigated.The author conducted a questionnaire survey on 433 Chinese students in Russia and conducted statistical analysis of the survey data through SPSS.Among them,demographic variables and other variables were analyzed for differences,cultural intelligence and academic adaptation were analyzed for correlation.The research results show that the overall cultural intelligence of Chinese students in Russia is high and the academic adaptation is good.1.In the study of the statistical significance of demographic variables and other variables on cultural intelligence and academic adaptation,it was found that there were statistically significant differences in gender,age,experience of going abroad,pre-Russian knowledge of university,Russian level,and pre-departure training in the influence to cultural intelligence;in terms of academic adaptation,there are statistically significant differences in age,degree,major,pre-Russian knowledge of university and Russian level.2.Through correlation analysis,it is found that the academic adaptation and cultural intelligence of Chinese students in Russia are moderately positively correlated.3.The age,pre-Russian knowledge of university and level of Russian language have a regulatory effect on the relationship between cultural intelligence and academic adaptation.The results found that under age regulation,the age is older,the weaker relationship between cultural intelligence and academic adaptation is.Under the adjustment of the pre-Russian knowledge of university,the understanding is better,the weaker the relationship between cultural intelligence and academic adaptation is;Under the adjustment of Russian level,the Russian level is better,the weaker the correlation between cultural intelligence and academic adaptation is.4.When Chinese students in Russia encounter academic adaptation problems,the preferred social support is Chinese in Russia(22%),Russian friends(21%),Russian teachers(20%),Internet(17%),followed by domestic Relatives and friends of the family(10%),and less foreigners(6%)and international student managers(4%)in Russia.According to the above research results,the author tries to put forward some strategies for further and better academic adaptation of Chinese students in Russia.At the individual level of Chinese students,through good pre-departure preparation,conversion of traditional concepts,and promotion of cultural intelligence to better academic adaptation;at the external environment level,the author hope that China and Russian universities can work together to create a better academic environment for students,like strengthening the cultural intelligence training of international students and providing convenient and sufficient learning information in advance. |
