China had entered an aging society from the 1990 s.With the development of the society,people's medical and material levels had been continuously improved,and the average life span had been continuously extended.The proportion of the elderly population in China had increased significantly,and the aging problem is serious.Retired cadres are a special group among the elderly.When they retire from their posts,sudden role changes lead to changes in their long-term social roles.How to adjust their social roles after retirement and how to adjust their social roles are the focus of this paper.In this study,used the method of questionnaire,interview and participatory observation to collect information about the status of retired cadres' life,and combines relevant theories to analyze the existing problems.Researchers found that there are four problems in the process of social role adjustment after retirement: unclear role recognition,interpersonal dysfunction,imbalance of self-worth,and lack of social network support.From the analysis and classification of personal and social factors,it is found that the main factors affecting the adjustment of retired cadres' social roles include: the decline of physical function,the solidification of thinking and behavior habits,the narrowing of the scope of interpersonal communication,the lack of community support,the deviation of social values towards the elderly,and so on.Based on the above investigation and study,the researchers in maslow's hierarchy of needs theory and activity theory,under the guidance of work for 10 B community retired cadres to carry out the team practice research,including to know his own self and self adjustment,develop diverse interest,expand relationships,play of waste heat,realize self value and expand the social support network,target,planning in a happy life.The results showed that the group work had significant effects in its own development,self-worth,emotional adjustment and social support,etc.The study provided case reference for retired cadres to better adjust their social roles and continue to socialize.
