In 2012,the Education Department of Zhejiang Province has publicized The Plan of Deepening the Reform of Curriculum in General High School,hereinafter called “the plan”,requiring the general high school to increase the proportion of elective courses.That is to say,the elective courses originally accounting for 19.4% of the total academic credit should be increased to 33.3%.It has dramatically boosted the demand for sources of elective courses in general high school.The “plan” has been implemented for already 6 years,however,the overall development of elective courses based on vocational skills is not so ideal.Compared with general high school,vocational high school has innate advantages in the resources of vocational education.From the perspective of the teacher in vocational high school,this paper has studied the development and implementation of vocational skill based elective course Electrician Skills.On the basis of the judgment of the double attributes of the vocational skill based elective course,i.e.general education and vocational education,combining the research findings of core competencies and values for Chinese students and the theory of vocational education project course,this paper has determined the objectives of development and the ways to organize the contents for the elective course Electrician Skills.At the same time,this paper has selected the contents for developing the elective course Electrician Skills through the investigation of vocational skill based elective courses available from the platform of “Network Elective Courses for General High School in Zhejiang Province” and survey of general high school students' demand.During the process of the development of Electrician Skills,the author has developed three fundamental projects and arranged the contents of the course according to Xu Guoqing's “Revolving” Model in his designing model of project course.The implementation of the course has adopted the teaching style of integration of practices and theoretics based on the cooperation between general high school and vocational high school.Survey and interview to the students has been carried out after the implementation of the course.The students have showed great improvement in knowledge,skills,and emotion.The reasonable application of vocational education theory and the ways in cooperation between general and vocational high school have been concluded through the development and implementation of Electrician Skills elective course,which have profound influence on the development and implementation of elective courses based on vocational skills in general high school.
