With the reform of the national basic education,children represent the future of the country and society,and childhood is a critical and enlightening period of our life.As the carrier of knowledge textbooks imply value orientation and convey moral concepts to students.The age of children in primary school is similar to that in primary school Chinese textbooks.They have strong curiosity and imitation ability.Therefore,the creation of children's image in textbooks will have an important impact on the physical and mental development of primary school students.Children's image has its own unique historical and contemporary characteristics.The creation of children's image in textbooks of different periods implies different values and distinct views on children.These days Enlightened Mandarin Textbooks become popular again in our country,especially in the form of children.The perod of the Republic of China is a special period of cultural collision between China and the West.The image of children in textbooks has the characteristics of ancient children but also highlights the characteristics of children in the new era.This paper will compare the image of children in the Enlightened Mandarin textbook,which has the most influence and the highest circulation in our country,with that in the primary school Chinese textbook published by the People's Education Press,and draw inspiration from it,which will provide reference for the compilation of current books.This study is based on the background of the two sets of textbooks compiled by Ye Shengtao and published by Feng Zikai in 1932,namely Enlightened Mandarin Textbook and Primary Chinese Textbooks published by People's Education Press in 2001,the number and proportion of children'simages,the external and internal images,including physiological images.(gender,name,physical health status;social image(ethnic,national,political image): behavioral activities(learning,games,life,labor),internal image including psychological image and moral image(own,others,collective,nature)were compared.The research methods in this study include literature methods,comparative analysis method and content analysis methods.The analysis of the differences of children's images in different period.we can learn the excellent compiling ideas from the old textbooks which have a long history.We can draw inspiration from them.The compilers should also hold the Children-Based view of textbooks and children's views,showing a more full and diversified image of children through the presentation of children's image in textbooks,and teachers should try their best to understand and grasp of children' s images,it will help children's growth,physical and mental of development,and cultivate children who are in line with social expectation.
