Geographic practice is one of the four core qualities of geographic subjects clearly pointed out in the Geographic Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 edition).Geographic practice is helpful to enhance people’s awareness and ability of action,observe and understand the geographical environment and its relationship with human activities in a real situation,and enhance their sense of social responsibility.One of the basic concepts of high school geography curriculum learning is to innovate and cultivate the core qualities of geography.Rich and diverse geographic practice activities are effective ways to cultivate students’ geographic practice ability.Scientific and reasonable process of geographic practice activities is the guarantee for the smooth and effective development of geographic practice activities.The purpose of this study is: according to the design of Geographical Practice activities,to explore the teaching practice of geographical practice activities on cultivating senior high school students’ Geographical Practice ability,to enrich the theoretical research of geographical practice activities in senior high school geography teaching,to provide case reference for frontline geography teachers to carry out geographical practice activities in geography teaching,and to explore the process of geographical practice activities in senior high school geography teaching.Suggestions on how to cultivate students’ practical ability in geography.The research mainly adopts the methods of literature,questionnaire,interview,observation and case analysis.Firstly,the paper combs the concepts and connotations,research background and current situation of geography practice force and geography practice activity by literature method;secondly,it investigates the current situation of geography practice activity in Hebi senior high school geography teaching by questionnaire and interview method,and analyses the survey results;thirdly,it combines the characteristics of geography practice activity and the 2017 Edition of senior high school geography curriculum standard.Suggestions on strengthening geographical practice,summarizing the principles and contents of the design of Geographical Practice activities,sorting out and classifying the activities suitable for carrying out geographical practice in the three compulsory textbooks of Hunan Educational Press,and designing five cases of high school geographical practice activities in Hebi City.Finally,the teaching case study of geography practice activities to cultivate high school students’ geography practice ability is carried out,and the effectiveness and feasibility of geography practice activities to cultivate high school students’ geography practice ability are verified by comprehensive evaluation model and independent sample test.The survey results show that the organizational form of Geographic Practice in Hebi City is reasonable,but there are still some shortcomings,such as limited by time,funds,teachers’ ability and so on.Geographic Practice activities are carried out less frequently;Geographic Teachers’ practical ability needs to be improved;Inadequate conditions for the implementation of geographical practices in schools;Some students are not interested in Geographic practice activities,etc.The experimental results show that geography practice activities can not only effectively cultivate students’ ability of geography practice,but also improve students’ interest in learning geography by innovative teaching methods.On the basis of the above research,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the application of geographical practice activities in the cultivation of senior high school students’ Geographical Practice ability.It elaborates from five aspects: case design,organization,construction of activity resources,activity evaluation and geography teachers,hoping to provide some reference for the cultivation of senior high school students’ geographical practice ability in geography teaching.
