With the continuous improvement of the social and economic level and the advancement of science and technology,the requirements for education level are getting higher and higher,and the reform of education is also gradually deepening.The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China have proposed that the education should be placed first to accelerate the modernization of education and realize the connotative development of higher education.The quality education ought to be implemented in school education to adapt to the development of society,aiming at cultivating students who are fully developed in terms of the moral,intellectual,and artistic.Recently,in China more and more people have fallen in love with this sport.Students are becoming increasingly interested in tennis,especially,in colleges and universities,which lead to tennis class has become growing in popularity.The traditional teaching mode can't meet the current requirements.To solve this problem,it's most important for us to choose a reasonable teaching method during the teaching reform process.PBL teaching method,as a problem-oriented teaching method,is dominated by students and teachers in the teaching process which aims is to cultivate students' communication,cooperation and innovation skills,and improve their ability to discover,analyze and solve problems.This work was carried out by reading literature,visiting specialists,questionnaire,teaching experiment,mathematical statistics and so on.A total of 39 students from the2017 Sports and Health Department of Guangzhou Sports Institute were selected as the study subjects.Randomly,twenty of them were chosen as experimental group who accepted PBL method with the help of WeChat platform and others as reference group who adopted traditional method.After the experiment,all of students were performed skill tests and questionnaires.Conclusion:1.Compared with the traditional method,PBL method is more conducive to improving students' interest in tennis.2.Compared with the traditional method on communication,cooperation and innovation skills,the fact that there are distinctly difference between the experimental group and the reference group have been found.The effect of experimental group was superior to that of reference group,suggesting PBL teaching method have more advantages than traditional in improving students' ability of communication,cooperation and innovation.3.The PBL method on the ability of finding,analyzing and solving problem by comparative analyzing the data from experiments and questionnaires,there are obviously gap between two groups.The results show that the experimental group was better than the reference group,which means that the PBL teaching method have more remarkable than traditional one in the aspect of enhancing their ability of finding,analyzing and solving problem.4.The ball's distance and success rate by forehand and backhand should be also tested for all students.Likewise,no matter what the forehand or the backhand,the experimental group performed better than reference one on distance and success rate test.It is conclude that PBL mothed is more suitable for students to grasp the basic skill.5.And then,the overhand serve and bottom line pull test were carried out.This results tell us that the overhand serve effect of experimental group is more remarkable than another,however,for bottom line pull test,there is no obvious dissimilar between them.This phenomenon leads to the conclusions that there are significant effect for overhand serve by PBL method,nevertheless,for bottom line pull,the effect of PBL method was similar to traditional one.The main reason is why the learning time of bottom line pull is shortage,and it is also influenced by lots of factors,so that the advantages of PBL method cannot be shown only 32 lessons.6.Finally,three kinds of technical actions,forehand,backhand and overhand serve,respectively,were also evaluated between the experimental group and the reference group.It is considerably easy for us to find the former was stronger than the latter.Notably,this result further confirm PBL method is great important for students to learn and understand the official technical moves of tennis,rather than traditional one.
