With the deepening in the basic education reform,the targets of curriculum training pay more attention to“cultivating students'key competencies”.As a new form of teaching and an integrative educational concept,the Maker Education has attracted much attention in recent years.To integrate the Maker Education into traditional curriculum and cultivate students'key competencies,this article focus on the design and practice the extended course of science based on Maker Education in junior high school.Combining multiple methods such as questionnaire survey,mathematical statistics method and action research,this article analyzed the current situation of the study for the Maker Education at home and abroad,redefined the concept of the Maker Education,the extended course and so on.And then under the guidance of the educational theories and the curriculum standards of science,we have constructed curriculum teaching model based on 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model which includes Engage,Explore,Explain,Engineer,Enrich and Evaluate.Furthermore,two cases of the science extended courses in junior high school based on the Maker Education have been designed and the related teaching practices have been carried out.Finally,the effectiveness of the teaching case has been evaluated according to the data from the questionnaires,interviews and tests.The compared results show that the extended course of science based on the Maker Education is obviously beneficial to train the students'scientific literacy.Such kind of curriculums provide a feasible model for the teaching practice based on the Maker Education,and enrich the types and the connotations of the extended course for science.
