In different context,discipline has three meanings:conduct code(disciplinary rule),restraint training(disciplinary restraint)and conscious self ? discipline(disciplinary spirit).The school discipline education is a kind of educational activity which requires educators to utilize disciplinary rules,such as conduct code and regulations to restrain students' behaviour and help students fulfill moral quality improvement and socialization development by transforming their external conducts to internal sense of duty and disciplinary spirit with methods like democratic discussion.Educating is the fundamental value of discipline education,it could socialize students,improving students' civil right awareness and morality.Besides,discipline education also has the managerial value of maintaining school rules and guaranteeing the implement of various school activities.Nowadays,the absence of educating value of discipline education in elementary and primary schools mainly manifests as following problems.Firstly,discipline education in school only aims to maintain the superficial order and attempts to deal with issues in a seemingly effective way.Secondly,the discipline education has been made a compulsory and immoral education that only relies on infusing tedious rules.Thirdly,the discipline education has no respect for students,has no student involvement and rights.The problems mentioned above are not only detrimental to students' overall development and mental health,but also against the essence of equal discipline education.In order to recall the educating value of discipline education,educators should take the development of students as the basic interest of discipline education,a nd focus on its managerial value.The completion of discipline education depen ds on the cultivation of disciplinary spirit and the elimination of infringement of students' autonomous rights.The discipline education should insist on huma nitarian principle and reasonable methods.During the practice of discipline edu cation,educators should realize the immaturity and developmental laws of stud ents,guarantee students' right of involvement into rule formulation,establish relevant evaluation mechanism.Improve teachers' ability of discipline education and rebuild the authority of discipline education.
