With the continuous deepening of the reform of the new college entrance examination,it is imperative to implement career guidance in senior high schools.Career guidance is a service and function provided to students in school education.It can help students make choices and take actions in the aspect of self,study,vocation,life and etc.in order to better manage and develop their career.Through the literature research,questionnaire survey,interviews,case studies and other methods,the research investigates the current situation of the implementation of career guidance in senior high schools in Zhejiang Province,sorts out the achievements and problems that have emerged.The research analyzes the causes of the problems,further proposes the implementation strategies and countermeasures of the career guidance.The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter elaborates the research background from the perspective of the new college entrance examination reform,the student development guidance system,the importance of guidance in the context of international literacy education as well as the importance of guidance as a basic function of the school.It also clarifies the significance of research.Based on the literatures,the concepts of career and career guidance have been defined and discriminated,and research ideas and research methods have been clarified.The second chapter arranges the researches of career guidance from the dimensions of practice and theory.It is concluded that the meaning of career guidance is expanded from vocational guidance,and the implementation methods are expanded from scattered activities to a systematic curriculum,counselors are more specialized and the supporting system gets improved.It also reflects on the existing research which lays the foundation for the further research.The third chapter gives an overview of Super's career development theory and Dewey's view on guidance and vocational education.The theoretical interpretation of the two scholars has significance in analyzing the value of the implementation of career guidance,clarifying the characteristics of high school students,clarifying the teacher's guidance tasks,and establishing guidance principles and requirements.The fourth chapter uses questionnaires,interviews and literature to investigate the current situation of the implementation of career guidance in senior high schools in Zhejiang Province.It summarizes the current achievements of implementation: using various method,assisting school management,and promoting resource development.However,there are some problems like the realistic orientation of guidance is not ideal,the professionalism of implementation needs to be strengthened,and the construction of career guidance resource still needs to be improved.The fifth chapter analyzes the reasons for the problems of the implementation of career guidance.First,the actual environment of implementing career guidance is not perfect.Second,the professional competencies of teachers in career guidance needs to be improved.Third,the management of career guidance resources needs to be strengthened.The sixth chapter combines the domestic and international career guidance practical experience,and discusses how to optimize the implementation of the career guidance in senior high school in order to help students develop their career management competencies.The countermeasures include improving the realistic environment of life guidance,improving the professional competencies of teachers in career guidance and promoting resource's support.
