A Study On Local High-level Universities’ Discipline Layout In The Background Of The "double World-class" Policy

Discipline layout is the forerunner of discipline development,and is related to the manifestation of discipline characteristics and core competitiveness.Since the state promulgated and implemented The "Double World-Class" Policy,optimizing the structure of disciplines and improving the level of discipline development have become the internal requirements for the development of disciplines in all kinds of universities.At the same time,in order to cooperate with the national strategy and promote the overall level of regional higher education,local governments have issued corresponding implementation opinions,giving more support to local high-level universities in terms of systems,matching funds and other aspects,and giving more responsibilities in terms of objectives and tasks.For local high-level universities,it is an effective way to realize their own development to take "Double World-Class" construction requirements as the traction,optimize discipline layout and speed up the construction of high-level discipline system.Compared with the "Double World-Class" construction universities,the discipline layout of local high-level universities is characterized by unbalanced discipline distribution in structure,low discipline coverage rate and large difference in the proportion of discipline settings.High-level disciplines are scarce,medium-level disciplines are insufficient,low-level disciplines are numerous,high-level disciplines are low in setting precision,and the development among disciplines is uneven.As the overall discipline layout is at arelative disadvantage,local high-level universities are required to give full play to the advantages of close interaction with regional development in the layout of high-level discipline systems.Based on the analysis of the influencing factors of the discipline layout of local high-level universities and the difficulties in discipline development,it is concluded that the weak external competitiveness and insufficient internal development power are the main factors restricting the development of the discipline layout of local high-level universities.Suggestions are put forward such as stimulating the vitality of discipline development,guiding the strategic positioning of regional industry development,accurately matching the needs of industries,and reforming the cultivation methods of students.
