Higher education self-study examination is a new form of education and examination system for talent selection in China.In January 1981,the State Council approved the Provisional Measures for Self-taught Higher Education Examination formulated by the Ministry of Education,and the self-taught examination system was formally established.It combines individual self-study,social assistance and national examination.It breaks through the traditional school talent training mode.It has the characteristics of flexible learning form,high openness,low learning cost and high social acceptance.It provides more people with convenient conditions and realistic possibilities to receive higher education.Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,self-taught higher education examination has trained a large number of talents and made great contributions to the development of the country.In recent years,with the development of society and the acceleration of the popularization of higher education,the demand for professional and applied talents has increased dramatically.It is necessary for the development of higher education to train talents of different specifications at different levels.Self-taught examinations are facing unprecedented challenges.This paper conducted a questionnaire survey on students and teachers of self-taught examinations in 6 colleges and universities in H province.Through questionnaires and individual interviews,it is found that the development of Higher Education Self-taught Examination in H province is prominently reflected in the low satisfaction of students,the scale of self-taught academics has dropped sharply,the recovery status is slow,and the professional setting is difficult to adapt to the development of the times;The willingness to participate in full-time counseling is not strong,and the role of the aided institutions has been weakened year by year.By comparing and analyzing the similarities and differences between Higher Education Self-taught Examination and relevant forms of higher education at home and abroad,we can draw on the lessons of the current Higher Education Self-taught Examination system and the existing problems,and scientifically analyze the reasons.This study believes that the causes of the above problems can be analyzed from two aspects: objective environment and subjective factors.From the perspective of objective environment,the performance of the adjustment of national policies has led to the crisis of student self-taught examination;the change of employment situation has made it difficult for self-taught graduates to find employment.From the analysis of subjective factors,it is manifested in the lack of ideological understanding,backward teaching management,professional settings not in line with social needs,and lagging training methods.Under the new situation,Higher Education Self-taught Examination should comply with the needs of economic and social development,take effective measures,keep pace with the times,constantly adjust and innovate,better serve examinees and society,explore the training objectives of talents and the reform path of examination content;Higher Education Self-taught Examination management system required by individualized education;consolidate the institutional advantages in the construction of the self-taught examination characteristic professional system;build a full-service system to create a new employment situation.
