A Study On The Expected Employment Of Social Work Masters

Since setting up professional social work in 80s of last century,up to 2016,China currently has more than 400 colleges and universities setting up professional social work,developing an education structure including College,Undergraduate and graduate.Social worker was regarded as Professional and technical personnel on the The Sixth Plenary Session of its Sixteenth Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party in 2006,which remarks social work's stepping into professionalism.With Chinese education from elite education to popular education,there are a lot of social work graduates every year.But due to the function transformation of Chinese government,the adjustment of industrial structure and the development of information technology,Chinese social work is far-reaching.At present,there are over 400 universities setting up social work,calculating by fifty people per school,the quantity of the talents trained each year is about ten thousand,in fact,only 10%-30%students choose to work with professional counterparts.According to the present situation of China's social and economic rapid development.compared with the needs of society,the existing talents of social work is not enough.A survey data shows that the percentage of professional social workers is 0.2%in the United States,0.5%in Japan,0.22%in Canada,and social workers registered in Hongkong area of our country account for 0.17%;while in mainland China,the quantity of the people engaged in social work is 453 thousand,still missing two million by the distance of 0.2%.The occupation of social work has a very broad prospects theoretically,but the development of professionalism in social work in China is lagging behind,which makes it hard to work and serve in the field for the talents of social work.Now facing severe employment situation,increasing social demand for talent,and needs for social work with the upgrading of population aging in China,some students reenter the university for further study,nevertheless,after graduation,comparing their own high degree and Ideological of level with the job of social work,many students scattered into different fields.By June 2016,China has had 104 universities(research institutes)training graduate students in social work.The training of master major in social work is guided by national and social needs,taking professional occupation as the core,to cultivate professional talents of high level and high thought meeting the social needs.Social work exists in the society with the goal of "help people to help themselves",often giving people the feeling of charity,thinking that social work is just a pure devotion of occupation.In this utilitarian material society,it is very easy to create mishap to professional development,one is the lack of professionals in social work,the other is that a lot of graduates escape the profession to change careers.With the development of socialist harmonious society,the social work has been more and more needed to play an important role.How to increase the professional in social work innovatively,and how to solve some problems facing by the social work,are worth pondering.In summary,through the analysis of the current social employment situation,the contradiction between demands for talents and brain drain in the field of social work,to start tracing and comparing on the current employment situation and employment intention of the master of social work program,to correspond to the employment intentions and the actual employment,and to judge the intention of leading individual behavior and lack of professional education work in higher education of social work by which,and to reflect low recognition in the minds of the public of the social work occupation.
