In recent years,with the deepening of the friendly exchanges between China and Thailand,Thailand attaches more and more importance to Chinese education,and more and more students learn Chinese,which also promotes the development of Chinese teaching in Thailand.However,many problems inevitably occur.At present,most primary and secondary schools in Thailand offer Chinese courses,but the main form of Chinese teaching is elective courses,which leads to the phenomenon that students' interest in learning Chinese is not high,and the improvement of Chinese level is slow.Teaching Chinese as a foreign language is not only language teaching,but also culture teaching.Folk culture is an indispensable part of Chinese culture.Therefore,it is very important to integrate Chinese folk culture into Chinese teaching in order to mobilize students' interest in learning Chinese,stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning Chinese and achieve the purpose of teaching.Although there are many researches on Chinese teaching in Thailand,there are only a handful of researches on integrating Chinese folk culture into Chinese teaching.The author used the opportunity of internship in Thailand in 2018 to investigate the middle schools offering Chinese language teaching in northern Thailand.The survey was conducted in the form of questionnaire and interview.The questionnaire mainly focuses on the Chinese language volunteer teachers and some of their students who teach in middle schools in north Thailand.The interviews are mainly conducted in several neighboring prefectures.Based on the investigation of teachers,students,Chinese curriculum,school attitude and Chinese folk culture teaching in middle schools in north Thailand,this paper summarizes the existing problems in Chinese folk culture teaching in middle schools in north Thailand.For example,the school does not pay enough attention to folk culture teaching,the Chinese curriculum is not reasonable enough,the teaching content does not meet the needs of students,the folk culture activities are not diversified enough,and the professional quality of teachers is not high enough.At the same time,relevant Suggestions are put forward on the teaching of Chinese folk culture in middle schools in this region.Teachers should make targeted arrangements for folk culture teaching,carry out rich and varied folk culture activities and improve teachers' professional quality,hoping to provide some references for Chinese folk culture teaching in Chinese teaching in Thailand.
