Intergenerational mobility of education largely determines the outcome of changes in intergenerational mobility throughout society.Common sense and empirical research have shown that parental education level has a high positive correlation with their children's education. There are two basic explanations: one is the inheritance of genes, and the other is the influence of the acquired environment. It is of great practical significance to distinguish between these two types of factors in the educational intergenerational flow. This paper uses the Chinese Family Panel Studies(CFPS)data, from the perspective of the related theories such as human capital theory and social mobility theory, using the ordinary least squares method, instrumental variable method and propensity score matching method to empirically analyze the effect of educational intergenerational mobility in China. In addition, according to the results, this paper analyzes the transmission mechanism from both economic and non-economic factors. The study finds that parental schooling has a significant positive impact on the children's education. With further study, according to the gender of the respondent, the nature of the household registration, the birth queue and other information, the total sample is divided. The following conclusions are drawn.First, parental education level affects the children's schooling and there is a difference in the gender of the children, especially for the female children.Second, with the improvement of parental education level, the children in the urban and rural families will receive more education.Third, the parental education level has different influence on the children's in different birth queues. At the same time,it is found that the education level of fathers and mothers has a significant positive impact on the educational level of their offspring, but their investment preference is different. The improvement of father's and mother's education level has a greater impact on female children. For the above conclusions, this paper conducts a robustness test.According to the above results, this paper explores the transmission mechanism of educational intergenerational mobility. With regard to economic factors,as parents become more educated, they will make greater investments in their children's human capital.Among non-economic factors, highly educated parents tend to have higher educational expectations, spend more time participating in their children's learning and pay more attention to creating a good communication environment for their children.Meanwhile, the improvement of mother's education level also supplements the transmission mechanism of educational intergenerational mobility to a certain extent. In addition, compared with the economic factors,non-economic factors are more important and influential. In summary, this paper suggests that policy reform should focus on improving the fairness of access to education, early intervention in vulnerable families, giving children better family training for their parents, thereby improving intergenerational mobility and promoting the overall social justice.
