People's pursuit of happiness has existed since ancient times, especially since modern times, more and more countries have raised their citizens' subjective well-being to the height of national development strategy while seeking their own development. The Chinese government has also successively introduced a series of supporting policies for social reforms, and spared no effort to put the goal of raising national subjective well-being into practice, but the level of subjective well-being of our people is still low compared with the people of other countries in the world. As China's social and economic development emphasizes the strategic shift of quality, how to effectively improve the sense of well-being of the people in the current stage of the situation will become a problem that the party and the government need to face.On the basis of CGSS2015 data, this study conducted an empirical analysis on the relationship between universalistic trust, social integration and subjective well-being of urban residents in China, aiming to explore whether social integration has an intermediary effect in the influence of universalistic trust on subjective well-being.Firstly,through the analysis and combing of the existing literature related to this research, the thesis clarifies the relationship between the main variables on the theoretical level, and then puts forward the research hypothesis. Then, the author analyzes the universalistic trust, social integration and subjective well-being of the research subjects. After controlling the variables such as gender, age, political appearance, education level, regional distribution, migration experience and religious beliefs, the study finds that universalistic trust and social integration have a significant positive impact on the subjective well-being of urban residents, and social integration has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between universalistic trust and subjective well-being.The mediating effects are mainly realized through four dimensions: socio-economic integration, psychological integration, life integration and cultural integration.Based on the findings, this study draws the following policy implications for improving people's subjective well-being: At the macro level: First, the government should carry out accurate poverty alleviation in cities and towns, and enhance the "hematopoietic" ability of the urban poor.Secondly, the government should lead the direction of public opinion and actively create a good social atmosphere.Third, the government should improve the level of social governance and public services to provide people with a harmonious and stable social environment. Finally, the government should nurture and use social forces to support and guide the sound development of social organizations.Micro level: On the one hand, individuals should improve their life skills. On the other hand, they should try to expand the scope of communication and make full use of strong and weak relationship networks,so as to better adapt to the surrounding living environment and achieve a better sense of subjective well-being.
