The choice of the employment city of recent graduates in colleges and universities is not only very important to the graduates themselves, but has a great impact on the retention of candidates by enterprises and even on the allocation of talents in the whole region. The departure of talents has a direct impact on the level of economic development and operational efficiency of a city or region.Since the new century, talent has been the focus of competition in major cities.and the employment flow of college graduates has become one of the difficult problems in all countries in the world.China is a large population and a large country of higher education, with the expansion of enrollment in major colleges and universities, the employment of graduates is more prominent. The choice of employment area of college students is related to the mechanism of talent flow in a region and the coordination of talent allocation in many regions. The rapid development of economy and the rapid expansion of enrollment in colleges and universities have been accompanied by a gradual increase in the gap in economic development between regions, and for a long time, college graduates have tended to choose to go northward and deep,as well as some developed coastal cities. In recent years, this trend has improved, and some two or three-tier cities have become the primary choice for college students. The choice of employment city by fresh graduates essentially reflects the migration and flow of the population, and the flow of other people in the labor market is also a complex social problem.Through the understanding and analysis of the research literature and the present situation at home and abroad, scholars have gradually perfected the modern push and pull theory from the early classical push and pull theory to use the relevant model for data analysis, which provides valuable theoretical and empirical data for the study of the regional selection of recent graduates in colleges and universities. This paper is based on the theory of push and pull to study the flow of college students.Based on the push-pull theory and from the point of view of College students, this paper conducts a questionnaire survey to investigate the employment areas of graduates, and makes qualitative and quantitative analysis of the collected data.In the whole research process,on the basis of previous scholars' research on the regional choice of College Students' employment and the characteristics of each city, the ranking selection model and structural equation model of regional choice are established, and the model is analyzed from two aspects: personal basic characteristics and urban basic information. After consulting the literature, the questionnaire was made and the pre-survey was conducted. After the reliability test, validity test and exploratory factor score of the pre-survey were made, the questionnaire design was adjusted properly to conduct the formal questionnaire survey and research.A total of 1000 questionnaires were sent out and 890 were recovered, with the recovery rate reaching 89%.The object of study is all the graduates of 2019 in Wuhan City.Sample information is collected by three-stage random sampling method.Through variance analysis,it is verified whether the basic personal information of college students will have a significant impact on the ideal employment unit. Finally, the factors affecting the employment area of college students and the influence degree of each factor are qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed by constructing the ranking selection and structural equation model. The results of this study show that among the graduates surveyed, the professional category and the highest educational background of their parents have the greatest impact on their choice of employment units.Gender, educational background, professional category, political outlook and source of students have significant influence on their choice of ideal employment areas. In addition, the five indicator layers constructed in this paper are urban indicator layer, environmental indicator layer and distance indicator layer. There is a direct positive impact on the dependent variables. The life index level and career development index level have indirect impact on the employment area through the city index level.
