As an important part of high school mathematics textbook under the guidance of curriculum standards,"Reading Materials" is not only the supplement and expansion of the whole high school mathematics knowledge,but also the consolidation and deepening of textbook text knowledge.it provides materials for improving students' ability of autonomous learning,inquiry learning and mathematical thinking.The addition of "Reading Materials" has put forward new requirements for teachers' teaching and students' learning.Therefore,understanding the use of "reading materials" plays an important guiding role in mathematics teaching in senior high school.By using the methods of questionnaire and interview,this paper makes an investigation and research on the learning and teaching of "Reading Materials" of Beijing normal University,the curriculum standard experimental textbook of a senior high school in Baoji City.The data are analyzed by SPSS statistical software,and the following conclusions are obtained:(1)The students' functional recognition of "reading materials" is higher,but their learning situation is poor.Mainly due to the poor learning initiative of senior high school students,teachers do not pay enough attention to "reading materials".(2)Students generally read "reading materials",but on the whole,the students with better grades pay more attention to "reading materials".The main reason is that students are generally interested in reading materials,while students with better grades are more interested in mathematics and prefer to conduct in-depth research on reading materials.(3)The leading factor for students to learn "reading materials" is the requirements of teachers' classroom teaching.the main reason is that senior high school students concentrate on learning in class,and the way of learning is mainly taught by teachers.(4)Students are better at reading materials of knowledge expansion,mathematics and culture,but worse for reading materials of life application and self-inquiry,In addition,inquiry reading materials are complex and difficult to understand,and senior high school students are more inclined to learn to present diversified and easy-to-understand content.(5)Due to the less design content of the college entrance examination,students are not willing to spend time on the study of "reading materials",but only hope that teachers will involve more "reading materials" in the classroom.In view of the above research conclusions,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)Teachers should emphasize the importance of learning reading materials,change students' attitude towards learning reading materials,strengthen the application of reading materials,and require students to study hard enough and understand them accurately.(2)According to the teaching practice,teachers should improve the teaching methods,guide students to "how to learn" and cultivate students' self-learning ability.For example,when learning inquiry reading materials,teachers should make clear the problems to be studied and guide students to carry out independent inquiry and cooperative communication activities purposefully and in a planned way.(3)Schools and teachers should regularly organize mathematical activities such as mathematical knowledge competitions and mathematical modeling competitions to encourage students to pay attention to mathematics in their daily life and understand the mathematics around them.
