As a comprehensive subject,geography is closely related to the production and life of human beings.However,with the diversification of teaching forms,traditional teaching methods can't satisfy the requirements of the new curriculum reform and the future development of students,the content of the textbook needs to be close to life,and the static knowledge of geography can be made dynamic by living examples.In 2017,the new curriculum standard proposed to strengthen the cultivation of students' core geographic literacy,this led to the diversification of geography teaching,then teachers need to accumulate a variety of curriculum resources to serve geography teaching.As a new curriculum resource with strong timeliness,current affairs resources are not only easy to collect,but also have the characteristics of objective reality,timeliness,interest and life.Starting from things around can better stimulate students' thirst for knowledge,help students intuitively understand knowledge,and improve teaching efficiency,in addition,it can help students to establish correct values and world outlook,therefore,the use of news resources in geography teaching conforms to the trend of geography teaching reform and development.Firstly,literature review is used to understand the current research status at home and abroad,the concept and connotation of current affairs resources can be deeply understood,to summarize what will be studied.Secondly,the Internet was used to investigate geography teachers in 32 schools in Henan province,and the content of the survey was the application of current affairs resources in high school physical geography teaching,conduct data analysis on the contents of the survey.Finally,some countermeasures are put forward to realize the potential of current affairs information application.Through the study,the following conclusions are drawn:Most high school geography teachers believe that the development of news resources conforms to the training concept in the new curriculum standard.and can play a very good teaching effect,but the frequency of each teaching link is different,the introduction before class and the use of case analysis in class are relatively more;the application of knowledge module is single,mainly used in "the impact of natural geographical environment on human activities ",other knowledge modules are less;the current affairs information is more but the high school geography class hour is less and the task is heavy,causes the teacher's time and the energy is insufficient,the development degree is low;compared with the older teachers,the younger teachers lack the ability to use,and can't be used flexibly in teaching;in terms of the whole grade,the teachers of the graduating class pay the most attention to the current affairs resources;the level of school attention affects teachers' development consciousness and initiative,teachers' awareness of development and initiative in ordinary high schools are relatively weak,which makes current affairs resources do not fully play their potential.Countermeasures: teachers should pay attention to pre-class preparation and integrate current affairs cases into all aspects of teaching;teachers should broaden their teaching style,improve their professional ability and enhance their awareness and initiative in developing current affairs resources;schools should strengthen the professional training of teachers and improve their ability to develop and apply current affairs resources;teachers can choose their own methods,pay attention to the collection of current affairs information,establish a material library,current affairs resources are used not only for knowledge,but also for exercises,and the teaching design of "the integrity of natural geographical environment--the forest fire in Australia" can provide reference for the subsequent use of current affairs resources.The innovation of this paper is to explore the application of current affairs resources in physical geography teaching through objective data,at the same time,based on the data analysis,it can be concluded that it has great potential in teaching and existing problems,and gave a feasible strategy to solve this problem,and made a current affairs hot spot resource unifies the teaching design scheme.
